Well Unit 01 is seen actually kicking ass far more than any other Eva. Second being Unit 02. However in terms of ass kickingness (not actually a word) that definitely goes to Unit 09, I mean all the MassPros a beastly and all, but 09 is just some serious shit. Ya' know... dawg.

Exactly, it took out an entire NERV base in seconds! Furthermore, it did so without a pilot. Not even the three "star" Evas can do that working together.

Since 3.0 adds a pack of new Evas to the bunch, I thought maybe this thread was worth reviving.
Of the new batch, I'd gotta go with Unit 08 because of its snazzy paint job and cool looking armor. In fact, I'd say it's responsible for why I suddenly like Mari in the new movie. Unit 08's original design was cool too, if a bit generic, but I don't miss it.
My favorite of all time is still Mark.06 though. It just kind of oozes swag. A shame it's role in the plot is basically non-existent, but hey, at least it got to worf god mode Unit 01 in its 5 minutes of screen time.
Of the original trio, I find Unit 01 to be the best because it has the most striking design in both coloring and armor, and because the other two are pretty much perpetually overshadowed by it. Unit 02's pretty cool too, but I just find its design more bland.

Since 3.0, I would say Mark.09 definitively trumps everything, think about it : when Mari blew off its head was the moment they understood that it was an ADAM's Vessel... that means that this big yellow dude made WILLE's life hell, an organization with two veteran pilots and their EVA and a fucking fleet, without being damaged the slightest... for the past decade and half!
How much badass than that you can get! Besides it's nearly unkillable and have a lot of little tricks up its sleeves : it works without a head, can regenerate, pseudo-evolve, fly, throw eye-beams, hack the Wunder, and who know what kind of others infernal tricks it played on WILLE for the past years!

Eva-00 is the shitty Evangelion.
BEFORE the first episode she goes berserk and they must repair her, in the battle against Ramiel the only thing she does is holding the shield, repair her again, she returns in chapter 11, gives the gun to Shinji WHOAAA!!!
Episode 12, one of her better interventions, she opens Sahaquiel´s AT Field. Of course Eva-01 and 02 are the badassus in this battle.

16. The only thing she does is not helping Shinji. Eva-02 doesn´t help either, but at least she climbs the buildings´ walls and it´s cool.
In episode 18 she goes Luke Skywalker, without having done anything useful.
19, she tries, but she gets her face cut in two. Seriously...just with an N2-Bomb, without a rifle, one arm...
22...SHE DEFEATS AN ANGEL! ALONE!
...And needs the Lance of Longinus, of course, and the lance gets lost in space...
23...In this episode she is badass...and she dies...
In Rebuild 1.11 the same, in 2.22 against Clockiel she stands there like "Öh..." without having done anything. Against Sahaquiel she must hold the core for Asuka, her arms get damaged, she doesn´t help with Bardiel, she isn´t available. Against Zeruel, like in the series, she can´t do anything. And this time Zeruel eats her, using her to get to Lilth. And with 01 she helps causing 3I. But 01 does it in a cool way. And...she´s dead again, right? Even in that storyboard that was not used she was supposed to die. She MUST die. I think Mk. 09 is what 00 always wanted to be. Loses her head and gets destroyed, but is cool. Sad that the only time she is more powerfull she is "bad".
I still love 00.
But 01/Yui is the best.
