I think these events are for people who like the long runtimes (I wouldn't like being at the cinena that long). I'll definitely watch 3.333 before Shin btw. Just at home.

The theatrical cuts or the extended editions? If it's the latter, then woah...

Some friends of mine do that once in a while lol. It's not for me though.

The Shinjuku Toho Cinemas is kinda tempting with the IMAX option, but I think I'll stick with Shinjuku Wald 9 since they are an all-night theater, so I can probably see a second showing of it right after too.

Not gonna lie, the envy is eating me up from inside, lmao.

Isn't it crazy, that after all the weird problems in the availability of Western Eva (Series and EoE being in limbo for years, Q being delayed for almost three years) the Anime Cinema industry finally would have reached a point at which almost simultaneous world wide releases would be think- and feasible... and then a Pandemic hits and makes it even impossible for hardcore fas like me to travel to Japan, haha.

How can I preorder tickets for the 3.333 and 3.0+1.0 back to back? That is to say: how early can I go to the theatre website to preorder tickets

I do not know when tickets go on sale. If Khara hasn't posted anything about pre-order sales starting yet, then my guess would be that pre-orders haven't started yet.

But it's getting a little too close to the release date for the pre-orders to not have started by now... :uhh:

The advanced ticket sales for 3.333-Shin back-to-back screening will start from January 13, according to this post in the official website.

I'm super worried about if the Wald 9 tickets will sell out too quick. Back for 3.0, I believe they may have been the only theater in Tokyo who did midnight showings, and apparently the tickets sold out in 5 minutes.

But with 15 theaters doing midnight showings this time, and with Wald 9 not having the IMAX option, I really hope the online congestion for tickets will be thin enough that I can grab tickets.

I'm pretty confident Shin Eva will still be coming out on the 23rd, but I do wonder what will happen with the midnight premieres. I'd be fine if they cancelled them, since I'd just see it in the morning instead.

The recent IMAX fail though has definitely sealed the deal for me going to Wald 9 and seeing Shin Eva "regular" though. Can you imagine going to an IMAX premiere of Shin Eva, and then 10 minutes into the film you realize they totally messed up the audio.

Just to make sure the news is in the proper threads: Shin Eva midnight screenings were cancelled due to cinema opening hours (since there's the 8 PM curfew currently) but the film's still on tap for the 23rd. Ordering those tickets on the 13th were also cancelled as a result.

Interesting note (from the website link) is I guess the winner(s) from that "See Shin Eva first!" contest will be contacted about this, too? Kinda neat.

My friend in Tokyo went to see the Sailormoon Crystal movie bright and early, he seemed to enjoy it regardless -o-;

With less than a week to go before the release, the theatre schedule has not been updated in central Tokyo

Edit 3/6

Got my ticket pretty easily for Monday. It seems that they're going all out. For example, I could get a ticket last night but when I looked this morning, there were more theatres available to view the movie.

See you on the other side!!
