Maybe it's because I have other entertainment right now, or the fact that it's been almost eight years since the last "release date" we've gotten for this movie but I'm not very hyped right now. Maybe it'll change when we get closer to release and get maybe one or two more trailers but I'm just not feeling it right now.

Well, that would give ReiQ something to do. :D

If only she were so lucky. Rei 2 lets us know in Ha that she can't live without access to her capsule, and since Rei Q is a similar "model", presumably the same holds for her. UYCTM has a mysterious shot of Rei's hand crumbling apart, which might be a faintly disguised way of showing "Rei falls apart if she's away from her facilities for too long". So she will probably end up back at Nerv HQ and roped into helping out with Final Impact with a strategically delivered Fuyutsuki Exposition Dump.

SPOILER: Show
Nah, it'd be better if they remained non-combat support personnel. As much as anime likes to emphasize the badassitude of mecha pilots and battleship crews, they wouldn't be able to do their jobs without the non-coms doing their own jobs behind the scenes to get the rations, ammo and spare parts where they need to be. Hikari already has the motivational skills to get other people off their asses, Toji ditto but with more emphasis on empathy rather than authority (AKA the Father-To-His-Men command style), Kensuke being able to remember all the stuff regarding his hobby of military gear indicates to me that he's got the attention to details to do stuff like logistics and inventory juggling.

They can very much earn their keep in WILLE without being on the frontline, methinks.

Not surprising. Even if someone is a fan of an artist or series most excitement for new films or TV shows is created in audiences through marketing. Controlled ad placement, posters, TV spots, etc. A key reason the Marvel universe is so successful right now is the mega-franchise is always in a state of marketing the next installment to the audience.

Aside from two trailers and an extensive showcase from almost a year ago the marketing for 3.0+1.0 has been next to nothing. Even the poster is just an image of the Eiffel Tower and there haven’t been any leaks cause Khara runs a tight ship and nary a tease since, what, Summer 2019? With the amount of new entertainment always being put out this reaction is not unexpected.

Once Khara starts gearing up actual marketing what ever that will be - I’m still blown away how effectively the marketing for 3.0 hid the entire film - anticipation will drastically increase amongst even the most casual fans.

I don’t know anything about the Doraemom or Crayon Shin-Chan series but I know they’re huge in Japan and they both have new Toho produced movies coming out very soon - March 6 & April 24 respectively - so perhaps those will be when a new and final round of marketing for Eva starts up.

∆ Those two franchises are actually huge in Spain. If they are huge here, they must be blockbusters in Japan, and yeah, it would make total sense for them to be accompanied by Eva trailers (unless the trailers are meant to have some sort of shocking/violent content).

With 3.0 there wasn't a trailer till like two months before the film, but since that rule has already been broken for Shin...

Well, the teasers of Shin until now ain't got nothing of shocking violent. Also yeah the new deal with Toho has changed the way of doing trailers for Khara

I just checked how Shin Godzilla's trailers were released. The movie came out july 29, and the first major trailer was released april 13, a little over three months before release. If Eva were to follow a similar timeframe, it would mean a trailer release in the first half of march (would line up with the Doraemon release march 6 that Gendo'sPapa mentioned).

The second trailer for Shinzilla was released on the internet about 10 days before release, I remember it coming to theaters earlier and people describing it on social media.

It was an Anno project and Toho distributed. Don't know if it's exactly the same with Shin Eva, and if they would reuse a similar strategy, but could be.

I've only seen one ShinChan film in theaters but all the trailers were for things like Sentai, Kamen Rider and other kid's anime. I'm unsure if Evangelion would really fit in and Doraemon is even less "all ages" despite being very good! I just think the average viewer is much younger while a lot of families enjoy the ShinChan films together.

Let me guess: red? Or maybe blue to evoke the TV ending?

Maybe they don't mean THW color but that the scene has been coloured. There was another tweet recently about coloring.

Man, only 4 months to go, huh.
I would have loved to see the premiere, but according to my schedule they chose the worst time for the premiere imaginable... It would be fine, but I know I won't be able to see this movie until the Japanese BD is out at the earliest...

The film is so close now, it's surreal. I keep thinking back to 2009 when I saw 2.0 and was really anticipating the next films. Hard to believe it's been a decade.

I just noticed I constantly looked at the marketing for 3.0 to predict Shin's. Q had these VERY short trailers. But that had to do with the twist they were trying to hide. The trailers could have been longer, but your trailer can only be so long while constantly refusing to show characters like Misato before it becomes suspicious.

The trailers for 2.0 were more similar to Shin Godzilla's, so I wonder if we'll get something closer to that in format.
I obviously don't want the film spoiled (that trailer released shortly after 3.0 that DID show stuff related to the twist was kinda spoilery), but it'd be cool to get more shots to look at with a film this pretty. So far, outside AVANT1, we have only seen 15 shots.

Looks like Megumi Ogata has finished recording dialogue for Shinji aside from retakes of a few lines and a few odds & ends.

Twitter Translation: [Today] "Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version", complete recording of the main part!
It's not a big circle as it is. It seems that there are various retakes, and even more, my personal trials are left unexperienced.
After all, including that #エヴァ .
I will do my best until the last moment of release. please wait.
