Another thought that would cause everybody to flip their collective shit: if the preview was 15 or 30 seconds of Yui and Rei-2 in Eva-01.

Now I think they'd save such a reveal for FINAL itself (either Shinji entering Eva-01 whenever 'cause you know it's gonna happen. Or maybe some metaphysical wackiness, Instrumentality or not.) but that would be crazy!

I know that this thread is supposed to be SERIOUS SSD, but I think what would REALLY cause us fans to lose our "collective shit" is if we SEE Shinji conscious. That's how paranoid we've become. :lol:

Well to add my opinion in this thread, the one think I do expect is a release date of 4.0, and because Final has the potential to be release a little more than a year from now (November 2015 at the latest IMO) I do believe we will get some actual new footage of character interaction, Walking in the desert, sneak peak of Shinji's further interaction with Wille, whatever it may be. To me it should be a lot more like 2.0's preview.

The one thing I don't want to see in the updated preview is a different viewing of the Eva-02+08 battle with the MP-Evas, because that wasn't very revealing to begin with and getting more of that would be just like a middle finger to people that want to speculate or want to get an actual nice preview of Final.

I, for one, would prefer a non-action oriented trailer. Something character-oriented would be the best.

I wont's speculate too wildly into the actual content of the trailer (if any)...
But I'm pretty sure it's going to be a single scene of 2 or 3 cuts (like that of Eva 02 for Q), 15 second long and with yet another variation of "peaceful times" that Sagisu came up with for this occasion...

I don't know what I would personally want in the trailer, but I do know three things that are almost certain about it:

1. The trailer will show us something.

2. The trailer will tell us nothing.

3. The fans are going to get hyped regardless.

1. A still catatonic Shinji being interrogated by Wille, Shinji hums Kom Susser Tod or ode to joy like a madman.

2. Shinji strangling Asuka on the beach again.

3. Sakura yelling at Shinji for betraying the trust she placed in him by piloting the Eva again.

4. Gendo quoting something epic over several stills of the devastated post N3I landscape.

5. The last thirty seconds of the film. The ending. Ala the way the poster for EOE spoiled the ending for that.

There was no poster that spoiled the ending in Japan: Asuka and Shinji staring at the LCL Sea was the LD cover for One More Final (Movie episode 26').

And if that really happened with the new Preview; reshowing the original 3.0 Preview...I think my head would explode. :kaos_sick:

It would be insulting and infuriating enough to be valid. And funniest thing, if it would be done by Anno, it would be prised as another of his troll moves.

My point is, no matter what the preview shows, fans will call it glorious for one reason or another, just because of a brand. :huh:
