Not only that, but given that he didn't pull any punches in Q, I doubt Anno is any more concerned with pandering to his audience's wishes now than he was when he made EoE. If things are still changing it's because they're still figuring out how best to complete the story they want to tell.

Since the 4th film has that musical sign for repeat, I would assume the final film would be titled you can (not) repeat or something along those lines. Also I find it not surprising that 4.0 was pushed from 2013, honestly a fall 2014 release would be good at this point

Some speculation about the 4th movie, the symbol (repeat) and the usage of the good old エヴァンゲリオン instead of the one for the rebuild titles so far..

The blood on the moon, for quite some time, has been associated with the sequel theory... Agreed that this is true for this version of eva, follows my idea:

My POV on the matter is that the next movie will show us Kaji as the Wille commander (one can only hope he is still alive); Touji, Kensuke and all are safe in Wille's headquarters (including Pen-pen). They discovered that their story really is in a loop (as suggested by the title), but Nerv and Wille differs in relation to how to evade the ?inevitable end foretold by the dead sea scrolls. I theorize that gendo/fuyutsuki desire that lilim just disappears (finishing their misery, because they wouldn't be reborn again) and be replaced by one of the other possibilities; on the other hand, Misato and cia just does not any impact to occur at all - that is why Shinji was forbidden to pilot an EVA (since he is the fated boy). The title being the old one might mean Annos' idea of implying the sequel theory or how, in a way, he really intended to finish the old story in the first place (SHIN = true Evangelion)

Depends, Gendo has been always manipulative... that touji's shirt might be just that, a way to manipulate Shinji's feelings... I say that bc the strangest thing is neither Gendo, Fuyutsuki nor Misato and crew Poofed -- why the hell would the others?

I don't. I'm just throwing out lots of speculation here. Come to think of it I don't know how Anno felt about the reaction to the original.

One thing I really want to know is What Yui's objective is. Because if she want's Shinji to be able to be happy, she's not doing a very good job of it.

Not so. Japanese is a delightfully homophonic language, so shin actually means a number of things, including 新 (new) and 真 (true/real).

The coller blew up someone else though. Do they slap a new collar on him and hope it works this time? Decide he's too dangerous to live and put a bullet in his brain? Leave him alive, but act more hostile? Lock him up with more restraints than an Eva?

There are only two things I feel safe in predicting for 4.0. Somehow Shinji's ending up back in Unit-01. And Unit-01 will be modified so they can sell more merchendise.

Will we ever see the 11th Angel? It may re-appear in 4.0, but I fear it was secretly pwned by AsukaxMari during the timeskip. The Angel battles seem to have ended pretty quickly in 3.0, so I'm hoping 4.0 might have a bit more action and some cool monster designs. I also liked how they redid some of the Angels from the original series, although if they could design a new interesting Angel and have give it a pretty intense battle, that would also be cool. At the very least I'm hoping for a new MP Eva battle, but with Asuka winning.

Came here to post what I want from the final Evangelion movie:

1. That the movie is two hours long. The reason being is because, with the spoilers I've been reading from Evangelion 3.0, it sounds like a lot of stuff isn't explained. I'm sure(hope) that two hours would be ample time to explain all the loose ends.

2.Balance of action scenes and dialogue scenes. It is believed that 3.0 was more dialogue heave then the last two movies, which is fine. Though, since it's a giant/mecha anime, it's expected that there should be just enough fight scenes to justify that genre.

I hope these two things are implemented, especially 1.

Going with the assumption that the trailer is meaningless, my current bet is that Shinji will convince Misato by saying he wants to free Rei then go back and stop 2I, not just 3I. And then it turns out Mari IS a time traveler, specifically that she's been looping for a while now, and the 2I appearance of the Adams is actually the other pilots trying to stop her. When they succeed (probably with Asuka dying to stop her, maximum impact since she's known her the longest) they break the cycle and she, the element that has never belonged in the first place, is removed. Then Shinji and Rei recombine into one and pull a Yui, leaving the Earth behind for more wincest space adventures.

God, I seriously hope not, even though it looks like Rebuild is leading up to that point. I really don't like time travel stories, and I think they are very abundant.

Reason being, I always believed that if you make a mistake, you can't go back in time to redo it. I'm not saying I don't want Shinji to undo his mistakes(as a matter of fact, I hope he does) but I want him to do it in a more believable way.

Of course, this is Evangelion, anything can happen. Just hope no time travel is involved.
