Alright, folks: What's your favourite Godzilla roar?

Myself, I like the original 1954 roar, although the Millenium Series roars come a close second. The godawful 1998 version actually has a pretty decent roar.

Oh, I don't know, I never really had a favorite type of roar.
But I can sure tell you what my favorite version of Godzilla is!

At least it has more Japanese people in it than the new Michael Bay TMNT.

This is one of the few films I'm actually looking forward to.

Interesting thing I noticed: The shot of the Statue of Liberty isn't New York. That's part of a casino in Las Vegas. I recognize the backdrop.

I thought that was obvious, as all the action seems like it'll be taking place on the west coast of the US.

I've seen these a couple times watching the Final Four. They've certainly done a good job marketing.

...I neeeeeed this movie right freaking now. Godzilla as he was meant to be: terrifying and uncaring.

Magnificent.

I'm also really glad they're not playing that inane "ooooh what does it look like!" game every monster movie of the last decade has felt the need to play.

Seems like there's more emphasis than ever on the "God" part of "Godzilla"! Adding the katakana for "Gojira" is a real sweet touch.

I really hope that TOHO lets them use the Godzilla theme for this.
*fingers crossed*

Or a variation. Seeing what they did with Godzilla's roar, it might be fun to see what a variation of the old Godzilla theme could be. Something bombastic and terrifying? Or primordial and teeth chattering?

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they slip in a rendition of 'Godzilla March', the production team have just been really coy about those kinds of things. Though the soundtrack has been said to be mostly brass, Japanese drums and electric violin - so all the ingredients are there. In fact there's even some soundtrack info on the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_(2014_film)#Music

The track titles are a little on the nose. Could be considered spoilers even.

Just a quick reminder, it would appear that Sony Pictures Entertainment is re-releasing some of the old Godzilla movies from the 1990s and early 2000s on blu ray. If you guys want to catch up on some Godzilla films you might have missed grab up some of these movies come May 6th to build up your personal hype for the May 16th release date of the new Legendary Pictures Godzilla.
