Hehe, those three first movies could almost be taken straight from my list - except that I'd kick in Werner Herzog's "Jeder für sich und Gott gegen alle" too.
"Meglio soli che mal accompagnati."

Pff, real movies are for losers. *flame shield*

I did like Yojimbo, Ran and Ondskan, though.

I only have one favorite movie. A movie that stands the test of time, and ranks up there with Citizen Kane as one of the greatest movies ever made.

It's Days Of Thunder.

What? Stop looking at me like that! It is the greatest movie ever made. If nothing else, it has the greatest bit of dialog ever uttered:

Harry Hogge (Robert Duvall's character): All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise's character): Hit the pace car?
Harry Hogge: Hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle (looking puzzled): What for?
Harry Hogge: Because you've hit every other goddamn thing out there, I want you to be perfect.

Classic, I tell ya. 8)

Peter Jackson's King Kong has been added to my list (along with the original, which I finally rewatched).

To avoid the wrath of Reichu and her avatar, I will revive this thread and not start a new one {every day I pray EM won't get a horse head in his bed or some girl's head in a box from Reichu [whoever names what two movies I referred to there wins an internet (HINT: the first reference is one of my favorite movies)]}.
Top 10 all-time favorites include:

#1- Back to the Future
#2- The Godfather
#3- Citizen Kane
#4- The Terminator
#5- Blade Runner
#6- Footloose
#7- Pretty Woman
#8- Jurassic Park
#9- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
#10- Top Gun
- TEH Fabulous Hal E. Burton 9000

P.S. For those wanting to discuss a matter with yours truly not pertaining to the general topic at hand, PM me. Please and thank you.

Since the other thread was locked, I'll do a ghetto merge
The Eva Monkey wrote:So, what are your all time top ten films?

Mine:

1. Aliens (1986) Extended Cut
2. Millennium Actress (2001)
3. The End of Evangelion (1997)
4. Fight Club (1999)
5. Finding Forrester (2000)
6. Donnie Darko (2001) Theatrical Cut
7. Vanilla Sky (2001)
8. The Last Samurai (2003)
9. Casshern (2004)
10. The Matrix (1999)

5. The Ninth Gate (1999)
6. The Time Machine (2002)
7. The Matrix (1999)
8. The Truman Show (1998)
9. The Exorcist (1973)
10. The Number 23 (2007)

All worth watching over again and again.

I really can't rank stuff like this very well, since a top-ten or "favorite" change depending on time of day, mood, sun spots, and the like. So here are some movies I consider note-worthy and well worth watching, over and over again:

A Story of Floating Weeds (1934) / Floating Weeds (1959)
Rope (1948) / Russian Ark (2002)
La Strada (1954)
Wild Strawberries (1957)
8 1/2 (1963) / Adaptation (2002)
Band of Outsiders (1964)
Little Murders (1971)
The Conversation (1974)
Tron (1982) (obligatory)
Memento (2000)
Hero (2002)

And the newest, from last year:
Children of Men (2006)

There's probably several others that I can include, but they're mostly because I like a specific director, like Hitchcock, so I'll leave those out.

In no particular order,

Aliens (Extended Ed.)
End of Evangelion
Saving Private Ryan
Ghost in the Shell 2
The Matrix (and sequels)
The Princess Bride
Good Morning, Vietnam
Snatch
Seven Samurai
Death Trance (if only for the hilarious anachronisms)

I know, I know, I have no taste.

I'll say. There aren't any Monty Python films in there.

"Aliens" and "Princess Bride" FTW, tho.

I like the series, the complete set of which I own, better than any one of the movies.
