Shooting officially began today.

Somewhere in the world an ex-member of The Office (UK) is putting on some hairy Hobbit feet, a bunch of dudes are having massive fake bears attached to their face & Ian McKellan is getting ready to put on a grey cloak & hat.

Any link to the full cast of this movie?
I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,
But I discovered Re-Take (or it found me?) and
now here I am.

I think this is about as comprehensive a list as we have...

Which reminds me, they must have spent a fortune on big rubber hobbit feet for LOTR, which the actors all hated wearing, and yet there's not one word in the original books to suggest the hobbits' feet are disproportionately large for their size. Jackson could've saved a lot of money and aggravation and just glued some hair to their feet.

Yeah, WETA Workshop was the leading buyer of prosthetic in the world while they were making LOTR making Hobbit feet and Orc masks and stuff. Crazy.

Not sure if it is just me, but despite I having read all the posts in this thread, the icon for this thread still shows there's new post unread....

Apparently Peter Jackson will be keeping a film blog over the course of The Hobbit's production - first Hobbit vlog.

That video did a great job at making me excited for the movie - a mixed blessing, since that'll only make the wait harder. Still, The Hobbit is one of the books that got me into reading, so it's nice to see the dwarves' actors all lined up.

Also, his speech at the end? Surprisingly heart-warming.

Big Hobbit update.

Second Hobbit Video Log, Block 1 is done and people are asked what they'll do on vacation. Jackson & Co. fly around in helicopters looking for new places to shoot. Also, Azog is in the movie, which tells me they'll be covering the Battle of Nanduhirion...which means my S/N will be all over the Internet. :/

Third Hobbit Video Log, the dwarves are interviewed after filming Block 1. Get to finally see some scenes, including Gollum's Cave and the Trollshaws. Also, watch for the ending.

Pictures of the dwarves!
