Will Smith is in everything, prove me wrong.

He wasn't in Forest Gump for starters. :biii:

You think three box office bombs are enough to stop animu movies?

Please see early video game movies. We are in for a world of hurt

The best anime live action movie would be Guyver 2 or the first Death Note movie which is not saying much IMO. Astro Boy has a 48% on RT which is not great but it's better then DBE and Speed Racer have gotten on the site.

For the time being, I'm going to remain (very) cautiously optimistic about the slew of anime live-action movies coming out, and not really use Astro Boy to base my opinion on. For one, the production company in charge of this film was funfing itself for the first time, and secondly, they used low budget CG to animate the film.

When it comes to the Holywood films, I've heard that Keanu Reeves is very enthusiastic about Cowboy Bebop, and while that doesn't insure that the movie isn't going to be a piece of shit, it at least means that the production crew *is* going to be taking the film seriously, and not just going to pull a mugging of anime fans. I'll wait to see the trailer for the movie before I make a more solid opinion of whether it's going to suck.

When it comes to Battle Angel, Cameron is a decent scriptwriter and director. While some of his movies aren't always the greatest, they're entertaining. By the looks of things, Avatar may turn out to be a preview of Battle Angel. I'm going to take the wait and see approach here, and will probably get a more solid opinion after Avatar.

Haven't really heard too much about Ghost in the Shell, though, so I don't really know. Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the subject.

Essel's Corollary: The simplest explanation is never the fanon one.
