You know, I'm a you people.:hohum:

I don't mind unless its overly apparent that its trying to portray negative stereotypes, but I've never seen that movie so I guess I have no say.

I heard it sucks, but how much.

It has like 19% on rotten tomatoes and roger ebert gave it one star. It's mediocre at best. At least it was better and had more logic than terminator salvation.

It's ironic you should say that, considering that Terminator Salvation has a 32% on the Tomatometer which puts it 13 points ahead of Transformers 2. Both movies got eviscerated by critics, but I still enjoyed both of them a lot. Also, I personally think that Terminator Salvation was the better of the two, although TROTF definitely had grander action and was a lot heavier on spectacle.

I liked ROTF a little bit better because it was at least funny and the plot was at least a slight bit interesting. And the score was better.

Terminator had decent acting, but there is at least one scene where each actor completely ruins that statement. It is impossible to forget the helicopter to submarine scene. That made no damn sense. He jumped off of a helicopter and somehow got onto an underwater submarine. And it seems the bigger explosions in the movie were caused for the smaller reasons. The only scene in the film that wasn't a complete drag was when Arnie appeared.

I can't wait till Terminator 5 though. Because we get to see John Connor ask Kyle Reese what he thinks about MILFs. I can hear christian bale yelling trailer dialogue now

"IF YOU DON'T HAVE SEX WITH MY MOTHER IN THE PAST, WE ARE DEAD, WE ARE ALL DEAD!"

Well now that I've actually seen the last five minutes on YouTube, I'm going to eat my previous words and agree that that was probably the most underwhelming thing ever.

SPOILER: Show
Really, now

Optimus and Jetfire fuse into one at 2:20
Megaton surrenders at 3:50
The Fallen gets headsquished at 4:15
I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET, NEXT TIIIME @ 4:30

What the hell?

snowballreborn wrote:And the score was better.

hahaha no.

I listened to the ROTF soundtrack last month. Nothing comes close to SOCCENT Attack, and most of the memorable tracks are just remixes of things from the first movie.

yeah that was the other thing I didn't really understand in that scene.

SPOILER: Show
If Optimus had just ripped off Tony Todd's head and had been like "YOU SHOULD HAVE QUIT WHILE YOU WERE A-HEAD" or something, at least I wouldn't have been raising my eyebrow as much. I think they were trying to do something clever and symbolic to the fact that the Fallen's face is the Decepticon insignia, but it didn't come out well at all.

as a transformers buff (yes, i even collect the figures :\) i liked the movie. as a moviegoer, it was less than decent. i probably would not enjoy watching the entire movie again, when/if i get it on dvd i'll probably skip to the action/comedy scenes. i don't get all the hate about the twins being racist, but that's probably because half the people at my school act like that anyways

Transformers 2 would have been better if jonah hill's deal to be in the film had worked out. He probably would have stole the whole show.

I saw it on the midnight showing. I don't see why everyone is badmouthing it. It was a good movie.

Okay, I don't like the comedic bits, like the previous film, with Sam's parents, the crude humor, etc. What really drives the movies, at least for me, is Optimus Prime. He's not some revisioned James Bond, nor any other action hero that has half of his spark in the gutter.

Prime pretty much makes the movies work.

SPOILER: Show
Why does JetFire have to be portrayed as old and falling apart? The Fallen is about the same age, and still running around without arthritis meds. Also, not enough screen time for Arcee, and the new Autobots (besides the two homeboys that make me wonder about Cybertron's social programs).

In ALL my life I have never, and I mean N E V E R seen weapons so powerful and yet SOOO dam inaccurate.

They were like shooting everywhere except the spot their prey at the time was. Hilarious to watch.

I really tried but I couldn't stop laughing when 5 (or more?) decepticons tried to kill few poorly armed soldiers AND THEY FAILED MISERABLY, fraking loosers.

I'd like to say sorry to the guys sitting next to me in the cinema. I really tried...

http://www.pbpulse.com/tag/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen/

From the article:

Wilson said Wednesday that he never imagined viewers might consider the twins to be racial caricatures. When he took the role, he was told that the alien robots learned about human culture through the Web and that the twins were “wannabe gangster types.”

“It’s an alien who uploaded information from the Internet and put together the conglomeration and formed this cadence, way of speaking and body language that was accumulated over X amount of years of information and that’s what came out,” the 40-year-old actor said. “If he had uploaded country music, he would have come out like that.”

It’s not fair to assume the characters are black, he said.

“It could easily be a Transformer that uploaded Kevin Federline data,” Wilson said. “They were just like posers to me.”
