Don't be silly, the fight scenes and special effects were very well done.

I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,

So a 7 ? My prediction is off (I guessed 8), but only the slightest bit. :)

The fight scenes were ATROCIOUS. You can have all the showy camerawork you want but if there's zero forward momentum to the figths & everything feels weightless there's no energy.
$150 million can buy even the least talented filmmaker some pretty pictures but it's how you connect those pretty pictures that MAKE a movie.

The Last Airbender fails that simple concept on every. I enjoy a good summer movie as much as the next guy (Green Lantern looks tight) but jesus christ TLA was TURRR-ible!
A little youtube searching & I found more enjoyment out of this clip MOCKING the film than the actual film itself:

The camera work was fine and I don't know what you mean by momentum or weightlessness.

This makes me laugh every time. I love how it takes 6 people to throw a rock at a guy who just stands there and gets hit by one of the slowest attacks in history.

Overall: Good

Oh yeah! I knew it! Twin drives in the house!

But yeah seriously if you can take this on and enjoy it, you should try to give pmmm a chance, if you can make it through the first three eps, it really takes off after that.

I loved the Avatar anime, but the movie is a bit disappointing.....

My friends and I watched this opening weekend even though we all heard it was bad, mainly because we all thought that the huge wall of water in the trailer was really cool. The worst part was that we HAD to waste more money to watch it in 3D because the theater we went to only showed it in that format. Even my dad said it sucked, and he thought that Revenge of the Fallen was good.

I knew Twin Drive was going to like the movie. I still dare him to review "Dragon Ball Evolution" next.

Wait, there were fight scenes? All I remember was poorly used special effects.

I still find it sorely amazing that a movie can take the idea of people that can manipulate the elements and turn it into an absolutely boring film. I mean, seriously! One of the armies is using flying fire in their attacks. How is that made to be boring? Was that M. Night's big twist in the movie? I can understand an action film not having much character depth and things of that nature (which is still never a good thing), but boring?

^The big twist was that even though the movie sucked it still made a lot of money somehow.

Making it so Firebenders (with few exceptions) have to draw fire from a source instead of their own bodies just confounds me.

What possible reason is there to make a change like that?
I mean, it just makes all the other nations look like bloody morons for not being able to, I don't know...put out the fire's source with their own bending?

Then again, looking at the Earthbending scene again, maybe Shyamalan intended to make everyone idiots or something.

Speaking of Shyamalan, didn't he get interested in making this movie because his daughter was a fan of the show? Geez, she must hate him right now...

I always figured the fire was just drawn out of the air, sine the elements nessecery for making fire like oxygen and hydrogen are present in the air. Yeah firebenders are actually just airbenders using really hot air.

Shymalan I think was trying to be consistent in how the nations use the elements, but just didn't think it through enough on how the firebenders abilities might actually work in the tv series which is why we got that bullshit in the movie.

Hahahhahaha I can imagine after the movie premiered she shows up at school wearing a paper bag over her head to hide the embarressment.
