It's visually stunning, but the narrative leaves something to be desired. It's probably one of my favorite films of the 90s for its sheer imagination. It must be watched on a big screen though.The Eva Monkey wrote:

kingdom of heaven sucks so much nut i couldn`t sit through the whole thing, as did timeline.
blade runner was a letdown for me. Nice setting but Harrison ford was way too much of a puss (getting his ass kicked all over the place) when compared to indiana jones or han solo.

Horror/psychological movies:
Anything by Alfred Hitchcock. He really was a master at the genre (even if they seem a bit dated, they're still really fun).
Oldboy - Not really horror, but psychological thriller in the vein of Hitchcock. The last several minutes are the most shocking moments in any film I've ever seen. Mindfuck doesn't even begin...
Audition - Really, really disturbingly creepy. Starts out as a simple story of a man trying to find a new wife, and quickly descends into the 10th level of hell.
Jacob's Ladder - Not extremely scary either, but really dark, creepy and actually kind of beautiful too. They did a great job of putting the viewer in the place of poor Jacob.
The Machinist - Worth it for the carnival ride and Chritian Bale's perfromance alone, but still a really good film.
None of these are traditionally scary, but they're all very psychologically disturbing in one way or another. I'd also recommend the Silent Hill games if you play at all. To me, they're scarier than any horror film I've ever seen. The atmosphere is so oppressive in those games that what you don't see is often scarier than what you do.

Napolean Dynamite is one of those shows I can turn on and watch parts of at any time and it'll cheer me up. I don't get why it became the IT movie, but it's quirky and enetertaining enough I think. Probably overrated, but that's ok.

If you guys want to watch a smart comedy, try Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. I nearly pissed my pants at some points. You'll just keep on laughing.
In my case, I refuse to go easy on the ignorant, regardless of degree. Hitler was ignorant. Joshua C. Whatshisface is ignorant.
