You liked this better than Armaggedon?

Armaggedon was actually a bit entertaining if you ignored the Aerosmith music and the perposterousness of it all.

Executor wrote:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

It's a movie about... what again?

People undergoing memory erasure to get over their failed relationship. I dunno. Jim Carey should stick to comedy.

Meet the Parents

That would be Meet the Fokkers, Actually

Indeed. Copied the wrong title from my big list of movies that I've seen.

Executor wrote:
Shame

Havent seen it, why do I get the feeling it's about military service in Imperial Japan?

It was a Vietnam era film set in a generic European setting. It was about the effects of foreign powers on domestic affairs. At the end everyone drowns.

VERY do not want.

Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines

The ending, for what it was, is rather ace.

I have to agree, I kind of liked the end, but it really couldn't save the downward spiral.

Waking Life

Never seen it, i'm probley better for it.

It's a film for philosophy students to jerk off to.

Executor wrote:
Week End

Sounds like a typical art movie to be brutally honest.

French New Wave to be precise. It had something to do with car accidents, sex, and the end of the world. There was no actual sex, just sex discussed in explicit detail. Very weird movie.

DAMN STRAIGHT. I'm hoping Fido can live up to it.

Was just too weird for my tastes, and having an average cut rate of 1.8 seconds was agitating as hell.
It's visually stunning, but the narrative leaves something to be desired. It's probably one of my favorite films of the 90s for its sheer imagination. It must be watched on a big screen though.

Shame (1968)
One of the most depressing films I've seen.
Most films about war (and its effects) are depressing. I really like Shame, but it's hard to gush over it when Personna came right before it and Cries & Whispers right after (two true masterpieces). Not Bergman's best, but one of his better "minor" films.

Either don't disagree or haven't seen the others mentioned.

kingdom of heaven sucks so much nut i couldn`t sit through the whole thing, as did timeline.

blade runner was a letdown for me. Nice setting but Harrison ford was way too much of a puss (getting his ass kicked all over the place) when compared to indiana jones or han solo.

snakes on a plane...enough said

parody movies and most comedy movies suck, which is dissapointing because i love comedy. however i like the ace ventura movies for whatever reason.

Horror movies (haven`t seen enough psychological ones, any recommendations?)

Akira bored me to tears, then again i was 13

Napoleon Dynamite sucks ass and is an insult to anyone living in idaho (like me), though i`ll admit there are towns like that in idaho.

Horror/psychological movies:

Anything by Alfred Hitchcock. He really was a master at the genre (even if they seem a bit dated, they're still really fun).

Oldboy - Not really horror, but psychological thriller in the vein of Hitchcock. The last several minutes are the most shocking moments in any film I've ever seen. Mindfuck doesn't even begin...

Audition - Really, really disturbingly creepy. Starts out as a simple story of a man trying to find a new wife, and quickly descends into the 10th level of hell.

Jacob's Ladder - Not extremely scary either, but really dark, creepy and actually kind of beautiful too. They did a great job of putting the viewer in the place of poor Jacob.

The Machinist - Worth it for the carnival ride and Chritian Bale's perfromance alone, but still a really good film.

None of these are traditionally scary, but they're all very psychologically disturbing in one way or another. I'd also recommend the Silent Hill games if you play at all. To me, they're scarier than any horror film I've ever seen. The atmosphere is so oppressive in those games that what you don't see is often scarier than what you do.

The difference between Deckard, Han Solo, and Indiana, is the character shields.

I don't hate ie by any strech of the imagination, but it is overrated, to be honest.

Napolean Dynamite is one of those shows I can turn on and watch parts of at any time and it'll cheer me up. I don't get why it became the IT movie, but it's quirky and enetertaining enough I think. Probably overrated, but that's ok.

I hope you meant Dawn of the Dead?

Pretty good movie overall. I just wish it had a better plot.

Shaun of the Dead is pretty funny. On the other hand, I did like the Dawn of the Dead remake. Never saw the original.

Shaun of the Dead is one of the worst films I've ever rented.
If I have no soul to touch, no heart to love, no evil to rise up above
No angels and no ghosts, no real victories to toast
If you believe that this is true then I must ask;
to what end do you proceed?

If you guys want to watch a smart comedy, try Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. I nearly pissed my pants at some points. You'll just keep on laughing.
In my case, I refuse to go easy on the ignorant, regardless of degree. Hitler was ignorant. Joshua C. Whatshisface is ignorant. To me, they're in the same category of ignorant and stupid people who should have been left in some isolated corner of the world where they couldn't bother anyone. --The Eva Monkey

Yeah everyone kept telling me that, so I paid up for a rental and was reeeeeeeeaally disappointed. I laughed maybe what, once? Maybe I need to try it again with a different mindet?

Most people LOVE Radiohead too, and I don't get that either. Maybe I'm just wrong?
