Holiday Movies and Specials
Since the holidays are upon us, I thought that I would create a thread about our favorite holiday movies and specials.
I'll start with something that I remember watching, but I don't know what the title is or who made as my memory is fuzzy. It's an animated story that I think was made in Europe (there is no dialogue as well) and it was shown on the local PBS station (I think it was a kid's show hosted by James Earl Jones). To the best of my memory, the plot goes like this: A young boy who is the son of a rich and prominent man in the city they live in dresses up in a Santa suit (it looks baggy on him) and gives the presents his dad was going to give to his friends to the city's homeless. The dad is furious and forces the boy to go to each of friends to explain what happen and to apologize. However, the dad's friends are pleased and give the kid gifts such as medals and the like for his charity. If anyone could tell anything about this. I would appreciate it.

Aside from the typical yearly viewing's of Home Alone, Elf, The Grinch, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, there are two that I always view back to back on Christmas Eve:

My favorites are:
Gremlins
Night of the Hunter (although it doesn't become Christmas until the 4th quarter)
Christmas Story
It's a Wonderful Life
Miracle on 34th Street (the original)
Don't know any Christmas specials except for a few comics series that had Christmas issues.
My favorite would have to be the Dead World one, where a bunch of zombies dress up as Santa and his elves to deliver "presents" to all the kids. Grim shit.

In my house every year it's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
I usually attempt to avoid it because I know how it goes - but as it is almost always on TV in Christmas I somehow end up seeing parts of it, or, if I don't have anything else on (help) all of it

Darn, I was about to mention it.
Anyway... My addition to the list would have to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas!(1966) It was the first animated Christmas special I saw in English, so nostalgia is a major factor. Also, gotta love the VA of Tony The Tiger.

I usually always watch a good western on Christmas. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or Once Upon a Time in the West. I'm planning on Do You Remember Love? this year though and our yearly EGF Gundam stream of course.
