Way behind on X-Files s10/Billions s1/House of Cards s4 thanks to The West Wing which I absolutely adore.
Started sometime in the last 2 weeks of January and am already starting s6.
Love almost all the characters.

Only real flaw I can say about the show is it has a habbit of dropping characters/storylines without explanation/resolution.
Really miss Ansley Hayes altho Matthew Perry's replacement character is pretty likeable also.

Richard Schiff who I have always been fond of in small roles elsewhere (TLW Jurassic Park, Man of Steel) is phenomenal and I am very happy to see him in this major role, same with John Spencer (The Rock, The Negotiator)

Allison Janney is fantastic also (Her 4 Emmy wins for the show well deserved, shocked Schiff only won 1 TBH tho)

Rob Lowe was easily the weakest main character/proformance In the show and he was damn good most of the time so that should tell you something about the quality of the cast here.

Guest characters by John Goodman & William Fichtner were great and reminded me how big a fan I am of both of them.

Wolf Creek miniseries comes in May. As a fan of the first movie, and even bigger fan of the second, I am excited.

Finally finished series two of Les Revenants. Man... just, I don't know, man. It hit me, but it was also disappointing. Disappointing but still oddly satisfying. I guess it answered all the wrong questions for me, focusing on the characters that I was least invested in, whilst being high quality television.

Adele & Simon  SPOILER: Show
The one thing that really tears me up - I mean, really rubs me wrong - is that Adele chose to be with Simon. Seeing as the whole theme of learning to let go of your lost loved ones and moving on, it just simply flies in the face of that. I mean, what about her poor daughter who she now orphaned and left with a family of strangers - let alone her newborn son - and the fact it kind of endorses her past suicide attempts. There's still a beauty that she gets to be with Simon, probably my favourite character from the entire show, but it's inconsistent with everything around and preceding it.

Overall series two was good but there was just no way they could top the first, and I don't like to say that; I'm not that kind of person. But the rambling plotlines, superfluous new characters, being filmed in winter as opposed to spring/summer (I get it ties in with the style of S2 but it really did give off a cold distance feeling, as opposed to a feeling of warmth like S1) and maintaining its mystique over the character beats as opposed to the plot mechanics and the hows and whys. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to this one. Funny that.

Finished THE X-FILES - SEASON 10
-- "Home Again" was my favorite episode of the season, cool Candyman-ish villain. Really strong scenes with Gillian dealing with her dying mother.
-- I was among the rare X-Files fans that tipically didn't care for the overly comedic parody episodes and that remains true here. I was cringing hard during "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"
-- Really Mulder?
SPOILER: Show
Your dying and the world Is about to die also and your not gonna put a bullet in that fucker's head?

Finished BLINDSPOT - SEASON 1
-- Loving this show, last 2 episodes are fantastic.
-- A reoccurring complaint about the series is that Sullivan Stapleton was a weak actor. These last 2 episodes he really showed a awesome amount of emotion.
-- Marianne Jean-Baptiste is really damn good and would have made a solid choice for Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad.

Finished CONSTANTINE - SEASON 1
-- Matt Ryan is fucking awesome and pretty much perfect casting.
-- Fucking really? You really couldn't make like... 3 more episodes or a TV movie to wrap this main story up? You cheap fucking bitches.

Ok at this point I still need to finish Daredevil S2, Billions S1, House of Cards S4 & Start Bloodlines S1 The Last Ship s2

Strongly annoyed we haven't gotten any more footage from the Westworld show :/

I don’t know whether this show has been brought up on this forum or not, as I’ve been in self-imposed exile for nearly a year due to various factors, but it needs to be talked about.

This show took almost everyone by surprise when it premiered last summer on (of all networks) USA, and has singlehandedly catapulted that network into the spotlight much the same way Breaking Bad did for AMC. It won 2 Golden Globes, including Best Dramatic TV Series and Best Supporting Actor for Christian Slater. The plot of the show focuses on twentysomething hacker, Elliot Alderson, who lives in NYC and works at a cybersecurity firm. He has significant psychological issues stemming from his upbringing and he utilizes hacking as both a defense mechanism and as a method to connect with others.

The concept becomes more high-stakes when he becomes recruited by a mysterious man (played by Christian Slater, in a career-resurrecting role) only known by his alias “Mr. Robot” into an Anonymous-type hacking collective with goals of a Fight Club-esque nature: Bringing down corporate influence...but with hackers. The show not only explores Elliot’s own psyche (doing so in a Dexter-like fashion), but also focuses on his past, his friend from childhood and their shared tragic history, an ambitious yuppie who serves as the primary antagonist for the first season, and a few other side characters.

As far as the technical aspects of the show, it doesn’t take it very long for it to find its own voice: The cinematography is unique to the series and shot composition feels avant-garde compared with all other television shows airing right now. It is also a very much an auteur-driven affair, with show creator Sam Esmail writing and directing several episodes himself (After the success of the first season, Esmail was given carte blanche to direct every single episode of Season 2, which premiers later this summer). The music is also synthy/electronic, and fits the mood of the show perfectly.

Performance-wise, Rami Malek is just awesome. This role, which features a morally ambiguous main character and the frequent presence of first-person narration, could very well have been a Dexter Morgan clone (you may also notice dashes of Shinji Ikari here and there) but Malek makes it his own thing, and infuses the character with such tortured psychological depth that you’ll walk out of the first season believing that Elliot Alderson is a worthy character in his own right.

I could go on and on and on, but I don't want to make this into more of a wall of text than it actually is. The first season is 10 episodes, and it receives my highest recommendation to check out. Also, do NOT research this show on IMDB or visit tvtropes because of spoilers.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Watching Stranger Things on Netflix. Oh, my God...this show is a-MAZ-ing. The understated and atmospheric synth music, the costumes and Eighties aesthetics, the very sincere acting by the kids, vague yet menacing government agencies, the slow yet legitimate build-up of dread, Winona FREAKING Ryder...oh, this is good stuff!

Started watching Bojack Horseman with my roommate. Finished the first season and liked it a lot. Hope to continue it with him soon.

Mr. Robot's second season premiere also came out, and while I was nervous about the creator directing and writing all the episodes and becoming a control freak, it seems like my worries were zeroed out.

Rick and Morty is easily the best animated show currently on TV.

Last Week Tonight however, is my favorite show on TV, and I'm glad it's having some kind of impact politically (Though Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is pretty awesome as well).

So Ben 10 rebooted again, only watched the first episode because I was browsing 4chan and saw a thread about it.
I still actually really like the first series because it was legitimately good (even if it had some weak areas) but AF and beyond? eh.
Fun fact the reason that Gwen looked less and less like her OG design with each passing series is she has one of the largest amounts of porn fanart of any character ever, and 90% of it is her OG design and sometimes her Ben 10000 one so they changed her to try and decrease it, it didn't work as you can imagine, that is until they got to Omniverse and she looked fugly as hell and people complained so they said fuck it and just recreated her old design in the new style.

Now in the new reboot everyone looks fugly, the reason I brought that all up is how 4chan responded to this, drawing porn, like it always does hell within 5 minutes a very prominent artist on there had a sketch saying "you cannot stop me"

As for the actual episode? it was shit, like really bad and I dont have much more to say because there wasnt much there and what was there sucked.
The thread was on a blue board btw before someone calls the cops on me.

I heard about it a few months ago, forgot it, then it popped up on Netflix and I marathoned the whole thing. Definitely one of the best sci-fi/horror shows I've seen in some time. The acting and sound design were spot-on. Can't wait for season 2.

The first few episodes are really rough, but once it gets to the swing of things it gets REALLY good.
The 11 minutes per episode is both a blessing and a curse, a blessing because the earlier, rougher episodes dont overstay their welcome (not that they are bad but the cookiecat episode for example shouldn't have been any longer than it was) and its a curse because the later episode leave you wanting more.
