If you like Red Dwarf than you might like Garth Marenghi's Darkplace it a bit of a black comedy but it's still very funny.

I just checked AMC's site, and you're right: there aren't any scheduled re-runs of Season 5 anytime soon. Considering that Season 4 was uploaded to Netflix about nine months after it finished airing, it's going to be a while before Season 5 is up. If you're dead-set on staying legal, then your best bet is probably Amazon right now.

Been rewatching Peep Show after a friend of mine lent me his box set. Criminally underrated (well maybe not underrated but it definitely lacks recognition) and is absolutely hilarious.

I've always preferred UK Comedy > US comedy probably because it's a lot closer culturally to Australia and I'm a big fan of the awkward/cringeworthy situation which is pretty staple in British Comedy.

Anyway I do recommend it.

Watching A nightmare on elm street, getting ready for Halloween by setting the mood, forget the remakes I'll stick with Robert Englund as Freddy.

If my power holds out during Sandy, I'll probably pop in my old The Nightmare Before Christmas VHS to celebrate Halloween. I've seen that movie so many times since my childhood that I can recite most of it from memory....

Bit off topic but do you lot in the U.S get a public holiday on Halloween? I know for a fact that it is huge over there and it rakes in a lot of money for retail outlets and such but I was wondering if people get the day off etc.

Not so big in Australia, do have the occasional Uni/School party but don't really see many kids on the streets trick or treating.

Anyway on topic - Watched Looper with some mates last night. Twas allright.

Nah, it's not really a holiday in that sense. Kids still go to school, and people with jobs generally don't get the day off.

Finally started the new season of The Walking Dead and I must say it is much improved. Nobody acts like they're on an endless vacation anymore and ruthlessness runs rampant. I had been giving some thought to dropping this previously, but I don't see that happening now.

Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho I just had to watch this it's one of those films that set the standard for contemporary horror/slasher films. Anthony Perkins was just perfect for the role so subtle yet so on point, I tried watching the shot for shot remake but I just could not take Vince Vaughn seriously in that role, it must have been a case of bad casting. I also found the movie too in your face, because of this it lost all credibility with me. I'm also going to dress up as Norman so re-watching the movie is great.

Okay, here's a weird coincidence for you: I read this post about when it was made. Just now on this Italian game show there was a question that talked about a father who complained to Alfred Hitchcock because his daughter had stopped taking showers after watching Psycho.

I'm surprised people didn't gain a fear of cross-dressers.

Started my James Bond Marathon in preparation for Skyfall, as I bought the 50th Anniversary BD set and thought I may as well.

So I'm through the first 2, and I can already tell this is going to be a long hard haul, especially when I get to Roger Moore...

Watched Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Comedy which had some hit or miss moments as far as the comedy's concerned. Would've paid off better had it been longer.

Lost in Translation. It's been a very long time since I heard of it but never got to watch it in full. Now I do.

The Blues Brothers: My favorite movie of all time. Perfect combo of musical numbers and car chases.
