Getting out your cell phone, you dial Rei's number.

"This is Ayanami."

"Hey, Rei, I was wondering if you could come over and make dinner? I'd like to invite you over anyway--Shinji's here."

"...Are you two cohabiting?"

Your eyes widen, face growing hot. "He-hey shut up! It's nothing like that! It's just nice to have a guy around the house, is all!"

Hearing your end of the conversation, Shinji fidgets nervously. He grabs his S-DAT from his room and sits on the living room couch while listening to it.

You make a face at his reaction. He seems nice enough, but that doesn't change the fact he's pathetic. "Just come over already, First! And don't bring any of that instant crap!"

"Very well."

Rei arrives and quickly makes dinner. Shinji decides to help her by chopping up some vegetables. You let them have some time together and set the kitchen table.

Dinner is served. Rei made instant miso soup--probably because it's vegetarian--but you don't mind at all.

"Wow, for instant, that looks pretty good! Thanks Rei!" You grin.

Shinji nods, smiling, sitting next to you. "Thank you, Ayanami."

Rei's face grows hot. "It was nothing. It is time consuming to buy ingredients and prepare regular food; so I decided to buy instant and cut the waiting time by 23%."

You roll your eyes at Rei--she brought instant even though you TOLD her not to--but you're smiling.

The three of you happily dig in, occasionally chatting about work--well, Nerv, but it IS work in it's own way--and school.

The next morning, you wake up sometime around 8:00AM, hearing the shower running. Having tossed and turned during the night, you're laying on your tummy, head barely peeking out from under your blankets. With a groan, your sleepy brain hopes that Shinji won't pull a Rei and walk out nak--

Then again, you wouldn't mind that so much, considering what you saw at the hot springs awhile back. You smirk, cheeks slightly red.

Sitting up in your bed, you stretch, remembering Misato saying something about a new pilot arriving today.

You wonder if it's a backup, or an actual pilot... And what's their Eva like, if they have one?

1) Go to school with Shinji, the pilot can wait.

2) Go to Nerv with Shinji so you can meet the new pilot together.

3) Go to Nerv by yourself and find Misato so you can meet the new pilot on your own.
