Let’s go talk to Mayumi, I can't see Rei being helpful in this situation, Hyuga will probably want to kill us, and our Shinji isn't going to be some loser who runs away from all of his problems.

She doesn't seem to care about it, though. She doesn't look happy that Misato was hurt, but... And she hasn't blamed you, or reassured you.

Is it possible to get anything out of her?

"So, what are you doing here?" you ask uncertainly. "I, uh, thought that Eva-00 wasn't gonna be ready for a couple more days."

"They are testing me for a synchronization with Evangelion Unit 01."

"What?"

"They no longer feel that you are adquate for their purposes, and think that I should be deployed against angels until you've been properly trained. They thus think I should be able to synch with Unit 01, because it is the better of the two."

Figures. Just figures...

Complain to Ritsuko?
Go talk to Hyuga?

I still say Hyouga. Remember, we have no idea he has any feelings for Misato and he was the only other Nerv person that we even know the name of who was there. Besides, I'm sure if we explain that it was motivated by worry about her not answering her radio he'll probably forgive us... though it sure was a dumbass thing to do. :facepalm:

In the meantime though, this has some awesome potential. For the time being we can tell Kensuke flat-out that we aren't piloting without even having to lie about it. ^_^

Hyuga is in Misato's office, not the Command Center. He is rifling through papers quickly. "Dammit..." he mutters as you come in. "How did Captain Katsuragi organize all of this?"

"Uh, Lieutenant Hyug-"

"Wha-!? Oh, it's you." He doesn't seem happy to see you either. "What is it, Third?"

"Uh... I wanted to apologize for-"

"Save it," he interrupts. "I don't have time for this."

Figures. "Uhm... I heard Ayanami is going to synch with-"

"Yep." He pulls a few papers out of Misato's desk, and then starts leaving. "And you're going to be missing school all day tomorrow and Wednesday to train."

He's gone.

No real point in talking to Ritsuko, she has her mind made up. You should go talk to Mayumi about what happened, and tell her you will be absent from school for awhile.
