Ritsuko is declared insane for honestly hating and wanting to viciously destroy THIS.

Shinji holds Rei in his arms and tells her that the scary blonde won't get her as long as he is here. Rei doesn't quite get what all the fuss is about, having narrowly avoided the Piano that was dropped at her by stepping to the side to pick something up, but being hugged is nice.

Kendrix: Yeah, it's so implausible that Ritsuko would be jealous of or creeped out by the fact that the only person her would-be lover is ever nice to is the girl who looks just like his dead wife.

Any reasonable human being should have been able to tell that little Rei was not to blame/did nothing to justify the violent response she got.
Little Children, even ordinary ones, tend to take the words of any authority figure for gospel.
And the therory that Gendo sent Rei doesn't have all too much evidence to support it - If anything, it shows how much Gendo trusted the little girl if he confides in her about such things.

Shinji's afternoon wall stare is interrupted by Asuka bursting into his room, slamming into his chest, and bawling incoherently in German. His headphones coming undone would have been bad enough, but it's the look of absolute heartbreak on his flatmate's face that really ruins his afternoon.

A continuation of MoroNoKimi's story on page 42.
Asuka wakes up from her nightmare. With fears of losing Shinji to a dude, she straightens up her ways. Thanks to this new attitude, Asuka and Shinji preform a co-op sync test with wonderful results. Kaworu however falls down the escalator and breaks his leg. Belated merry Christmas everyone!
