Char Aznable? Pretty cool character. UC Gundam got a lot of mileage out of him. But having a masked blonde guy in every Gundam franchise ever? Really? One with a callback is fine, but all of them?

(as an aside, rape, kidnapping, and pregnancy are in much the same boat for female characters. Once in awhile? Fine. It's not like they aren't legitimate story elements. But they are, again, distressingly common, and there are a lot of other things you can do with female roles in stories. Anime isn't quite as bad about this as video games and comics and such in the U.S., but it has its own vices and could learn a few things from the same basic lesson.)

My justification to hate Marida and pretty much any Marvel comics girl.

Of course this is much less of an issue in Utena and NGE, and given the makeup of the site I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but I figured it was worth saying anyway. Hope it didn't come off as being too preachy . . .

Finally watched Episode 15. Unsettled by all the incest in this episode.

She's so smart.

The Apocalypse song seems to have improved, sounding more powerful, the drums sounding stronger and the guitar being more intense. The new Time Machine song is sweet too. And I squealed when Nanami turned out to be the new Boss. Fuck yeah!

Now off to watch Episode 16. Considering how Kouze was the latest victim, the next one is between Saionji, the purple haired backstabbing slut that betrayed Juri, Youga or Juri herself.

This is the most bizarre episode in the series so far

Now I have watched episode 17. It was a very powerful episode, and we got to see Juri at last
Angsty Juri is the best angst in anime. And she's beautiful.
For once, I liked Anthy when she noted how Shiori, the pink haired backstabbing jealous bitch, hadn't changed the least. The Black Rose Shiori was the real Shiori, only more violent Pathetic little slut. Shame a cow didn't come down on her


And I also loved the look on your face and your yell when you realized you had been defeated by our Prince.


I fucking hate Shiori.


That's right, cower! Be afraid! Live knowing you will never live up to Juri Arisugawa, someone who knows how to live her life and be a sexy lesbian!

Overall, excellent episode.

You know, I normally object heavily to snark -- I really hate it as a general rule -- but UTT is the exception. It is the best thing ever and I am sad and distraught -- DISTRAUGHT -- that it was never completed.

(but that said, episode 17 was the best episode ever, so there's that.)

Well, I already relized Shiori is a little jealous slut who hurts other people because she's deep down pathetic and not worth anyone's attention. I'm hope Juri gets rid of that locket again and forgets about her.

Watched Episode 18. Creepier than the previous ones, because this one involved a little child. And for some reason, Nanami's sword birth was more unsettling than the other ones. It gets creepier by the episode.
I'm a bit disappointed, however, that it's just Utena who's been dueling the Black Roses so far. I wanted Juri and the others to participate too.

Note how Nanami has 2 swords instead of one? There's a theory going on that one of swords (the small dagger, really) represents her attachment to Touga.
