Yeah, I thought I was bad spending over $300 on Evangelion DVDs... that collection is rediculous.
I am a DVD collector and my whole collection does not reach a third of that!

this guys anime collection

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a275/Tabris_/DSCN2325.jpg

is worth about AUS$11,000

To tell you the truth I could never do something like that.

I only buy the best not just collect

The next few animes on my list to buy

Witch hunter Robin ( BOX SET)
R.O.D - TV (BOX SET)
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (BOX SET)
Gunslinger girl ( BOX SET)

and maybe one or two anime movie dvd's.

And that should cover me for the next year and a bit

I probably buy something close to, equal, or more to this in a month to two month time span (depends on what is released).

 indeed ! My collection is about 20% of that one in terms of shelf-run, which still comes to more than I care to add up (especially when abotu a tenth of my collection is still unopened waiting for time and energy to appear in my schedule.

That sounds about right and I am not rich by any means. I just live in a dual income family, have no kids, and neither my fiance or I smoke or drink. Which means we both have some flex income that we can spend on something we each like (Typical girl that the GF is, she spends her extra money on silly things like clothes and accessories).

I hate people who own so much anime they have only watched "most" of it. The rest is backlogged for when they get around to watching it. UGH. If you've got DVDs you haven't watched, don't buy anymore.

People also need to stop buying so much of this crap. Buying every series that comes out is kind of dumb. I only own 3 full series on DVD. Evangelion, Trigun, and His and Her Circumstances. I have a lot of OAVs and movies, but not that many DVDs overall. A sizeable amount, but not that much.

Here's a relatively recent photo of my book shelves at school, featuring the majority of my DVDs and a good bit of my manga and books.

amazon.co.uk, at least, tends to offer new titles at £15, then after a few months put the price up in stages to the DVD default of £20. That encourages a "buy now, watch later" approach.

As I point out earlier I am only going to buy these over the next 12 months

Witch hunter Robin ( BOX SET)
R.O.D - TV (BOX SET)
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (BOX SET)
Gunslinger girl ( BOX SET)

plus LOVE HINA AGAIN and maybe a few other move and OVA's , but really depends what comes out.

I only buy box sets these days as well as rent anime dvd's. It saves money and elminates crappy titles from my shelves.

EM, I noticed that you have the ANIME FROM AKIRA TO PRINCESS MONONOKE book. Not a bad read if I do say so myself.

I notice that you also have R.O.D OVA, but where is the Ghost in the Shell movie?
