It's alright. I've been watching it on Adult Swim, and it's not BAD. If you hate Clamp's artstyle, then you'll outright loathe this anime, because they're definitely Clamp noodle people. But the story is pretty good, and it has its moments. My biggest complaint is that a certain white "Real Robot" comes incredibly close to being a Super Robot, it's that overpowered. It's nothing altogether too special, but it's better than a lot of stuff that's around.

It's Death Note, except it's actually good. The emo was replaced with mechs.

This is not a series that sold itself to me, so I'm just going to take the chance to ask about a couple of points about the series that anyone on /a/ last year would absorb by osmosis:

Is it still a half-hour Pizza Hut commercial? And have they shown episode 12 yet? (If so, did they keep *that* scene in?)

it's not bad like Shiro said, but IMO there's too much filler for me to like it, kind of like what Death Note became

It's Death Note, except it's actually sucky. The emo was replaced with faggotries and princesses.

I am totally obsessed with it

it is a very good show

but WARNING: the first episode is godawful. GODAWFUL.

But literally the second episode is then BRILLIANT

so my advice, don't let the bad first episode throw you off

You just summed up the pattern for the entire show. Watch one episode, feel like nothing particularly important is happening, and a situation is occurring that there's no way out of, then next epi-HOLY FUDGEKNUCKERS WHAT WAS THAT? MY MIND IS BLOWN!

Usually, a boring episode is the predecessor to a ridiculously holy shit episode.

It's what you get when you cross deathnote with gundam wing and a bad harem anime.

The animation is pretty consistent as long as you're fine with the CLAMP character designs. The mecha aspect of the show is completely secondary, it's more of an ever present plot device, they could have used any kind of weapon. What makes the story interesting is the mind games and the situational plot twists. If you're not into that kind of stuff, you're probably not going to like the show.

Tines: The Pizza Hut product placement was blatant, but it wasn't all over the place. You only see it when CC is eating. There was a pizza in the second season but I don't remember seeing the Pizza Hut logo.

AA: Although I admit the second season isn't as good as the first, at least it looks like it'll END this time. As opposed to the cliff hanger at the end of the first season which was aired a month after another cliff hanger.

I was mainly wondering whether the series had been edited for TV in the States (different sponsors, more prudish, that sort of thing).

I don't think they changed anything in terms of product placement except for the Pizza Hut logo.

what do you mean Tines-ojisan, did the product placements include "adult-oriented" products in the original version or something?

I really haven't noticed anything out side that in the orinal there was some slight nudity, but all AS has done is blur it out instead of cutting full shots. I personaly love the show and I love the plot twist in it, and it is sorta like a Death Note combined with Gundam, because the main character is a fucking brilliant genius in his plans but with much more balls then Light ever had, and on a another note I know there is some rabid I hate dub anime people hear but the lead characters, Dub voice is much better than the orignal, fucking live with it.

Given the way C.C. eats her pizza, yes. It is adult-oriented.

And [cliche anime fan name with an unreasonable hostile attitude]Jr, I don't consider myself a rabid sub fanboy, as I enjoy the dubs of several series (G Gundam takes the cake, btw). However, Dub Lelouch's voice is just a simple teenager voice, while Sub Lelouch seems to have a richer way of speaking. The dub for Geass is good, but inferior to the sub in every way.

I see your "fucking live with it", and raise you two "administer filatio now"s.

There were two questions -- one about pizza advertising, the other about Nina's assault on a table in episode 12.
