No, the best non-Eva related thread ever will somehow involve a hallucinating, psychotic, cocaine-overdosed Pee-Wee Herman kicking the shit out of Barney the Dinosaur while continuously shouting obscenities of a most creative nature.

HOLY SHIT WAIT A MINUTE-

FYI: I'd never touch jailbait.
FYI #2: I made a joke-a!
FYI #3: (Also considering the fact I had no idea Birdy WAS jailbait until just the other day...)

Instead, I suggest hooking up Birdy with Shiro. Come on, fellow EGFers! Let's put our match-making skills to the test!

You know girls that like Japan: They'll like Gravitation. ALMOST guaranteed. Most popular shounen-ai ever made.

Saw the first three or so episodes at an anime club back when I actually happened to be attending a 4-year college. About all I remember is that there was a little sissy "faggot" who was invariably going to be butt-sex0red by this much bigger, creepy bishie who seemed like the sort of guy who'd get arrested on that aforereferenced Hanson show. ("I want to stick my blank in your blank while you get blanked by my Doberman Pinscher LAUGH OUT LOUD.") It looked like the sort of thing best left for yaoi fangirls to consume, and for me to comfortably ignore as lacking any further merit.

But, hey, I could be wrong. Although I doubt it.

From what I've heard (sadly, I HAVE heard about it) that's almost perfectly summing it up. Girls will go on about how PERFECT their love is, but it's just another yaoi love story. If they want to like it, no way I'll try to stop them, but most definitely my cup of tea.

For real? The butch of the pair seemed like a rapist or something. Maybe he goes through a "character arc".

but it's just another yaoi love story.

I've got nothing against love stories (or loveless stories, as the case may be) involving two guys, but, for some reason, "yaoi" tends to bring cliched, disposable blandness to mind instead of anything worthwhile. I know I had a better time with Jack and Ennis than I did at the anime club that one night.

Apparently the blonde guy has a shitload of character development, but who knows. Quite frankly, I don't care.

(and you don't know how refreshing it is to hear a female who hates Gravitation)

It's not quite that I hate it. It's more a matter of not caring. It takes much less energy. ;)

They're quite different.

Hatred is a passion of unpleasantness. It burns up energy, has the potential to create misery, and is generally not worth doing.

Not caring, in this case, is a sort of harmless apathy born of not being bothered with things that fail to pique one's interests, and about the most thought that is invested into them is the occasional musing over why I don't care or why other people find them worthwhile. I don't care about organized sports. I don't care about which celebrities are dating, breaking up, or reproducing. I don't care about beautification. I don't care about yaoi as a genre.
