Sakura Trick 6 - Background development on the main and secondary couples helps the series in the detail department plus Haruka's fantasy of having a family with Yuu-chan complete with Haruka Jr. is so KAWAII!^_^

D-Frag! 3 - Been a while since I was watching this show and seeing the turnout of the two game clubs' methods in outdoing each other coming to an elegant conclusion where both sides are pleased helped convince me that the series is worth the onward and upward.

Sticking to comedies lately-

Getting my fix of juvenile, genital humour with Seitokai Yakuindomo*.
The first part of the first episode sadly went and did that obnoxious, time-wasting exercise wherein it re-introduces all the characters to the audience one by one; presumably because new viewers will left drowning in the deep end if they aren’t immediately familiarised with the appearance and identity of every player of an irreverent, gag-comic adaptation in one sitting. I hate it when second seasons do this.

Besides that, it’s the same old rubbish as the first season, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tonari no Seki-kun (The Master of Killing Time) manages to achieve at least one laugh per week, or many, as was the case with its second (Shogi) episode.
Simple premise with a short and sweet episode length, carried almost entirely by the inner monolog and reactions of the female lead.

That said, there's copies of the trades on Amazon, by the looks of it.

Guhh, that's disheartening because I prefer to read manga as physical copies. I guess it can't be helped. Also I thought FFS had ended long ago given how long it has run but looks like it's one of these eternity projects which makes me feel a bit leery. Nagano's not gonna croak before finish line is he. :uhh:

View Original PostAzathoth wrote:Haha, time to get caught up before new series comes out to rape your eyes with terrible CG space battles.

Well, I can't remember exactly how far I got back in the day before talking heads and s-l-o-w pacing put the series in seemingly eternal on hold folder but to be fair LotGH is hardly fireworks of furious space battle sakuga. Moreso than CG I'm worried about who they could possibly find as replacement for Ishiguro as far as directors go. I've given considerable thought for this ever since remake news arrived and no joke only candidates I can imagine doing great job and justice to tone and style of original are Hideaki Anno and Yutaka Izubuchi. Both are busy with their own projects however...

View Original PostAzathoth wrote:In the end it is all an excuse to draw "attractive" gynoids who are integral parts of the gigantic destructive deific mechanical fetish objects that are the real locus of Nagano's sexuality (panels of the manga look like something Giger would have been proud of), and that's a goal anybody should be able to get behind. But it's not as dumb as a story with such a premise might be. Which is not to say it isn't dumb at all, but rather it approaches its material with an appropriate attitude.

[..]

Speaks for itself really.

Man, you always know how to seduce me. FFS is gonan get picked the fuck up the moment after I finish L-Gaim, I can handle it and LotGH at the same time just fine.

View Original PostAzathoth wrote:Huh, this is interesting. I'm not surprised to hear of Tomino being hard to work with of course but I'd never heard of that outside of the context of Gundam. But yeah, L-Gaim has troubled production written all over it.

Being able to read moonrune talk about animu is probably the only "constructive" use I have for my language skill as is. General rudimentary shittyness of Japanese wikipedia is amusing but it's absolute treasure dove of obsessive anime knowledge because apparently otaku are only one who give shit about the site.

What I've said all comes from L-Gaim's production section. Apparently Tomino also considers the series something of a "bandoned child thanks to Zeta Gundam which had been planned prior to L-Gaim's airing and would start soon afterwards. It started to pull attention away from production team to say the least.

View Original Postdriftking18594 wrote:Holy shit, are you some sort of masochist?!

hm, why?

*************

So I resolved my what Tomino to watch next by watching first episode of every series! Multitask world championship here I come.

Invincible Superman Zambot 3 eps 1-3

Image
ImageImage

ahahahahahaahaha what the fuck. Talk about opening sequence for toy commercial. :hahaha:

Episode 2: random cows flameballed to death
Episode 3: countless civilians turned into glass/ice and shattered to pieces

Oh wow.

That said, I'm again reminded of the fact I really don't care much for 70s super robot series. Zambot 3 is just one more crudely animated toy commercial with hokey writing, retarded looking enemy monsters and it only distinguishes itself with these hilarious, random bursts of uncharacteristic bloodlust. Unfortunately they don't make the series better per se - just helluva weirder.

It's not terrible but nor is it good or even interesting (sans macabre random slaughter to which I look forward to most). It's just basic 70s super robot anime. Nothing more, nothing less. For me that means "meeehhh".

Of course I'll watch this first since this seems to be the least engaging entry for me. Work first, fun later.

Xabungle ep 1

Image
look at this fujoshi bait bishounen! Absolutely disgusting pandering.

I really enjoyed first episode of Xabungle. Tomino just throws the viewer off the deep end into this odd scifi western world filled with bizarro mecha, spunky scavenger kids, likeable ugly fucker of a main character, awful laws (any crime seems to go old within 3-7 days!!!) and general weirdness.

This seems to be a keeper.

Heavy Metal L-Gaim Skywalkers and Pantyshots ep 1

Image
Image

I liked this first episode too. L-Gaim has great mecha design as expected of Nagano and the main characters seem likeable enough. I'm not at all opposed to looting Star Wars for lightsabers either.

What really got my attention though was the fact first half of the episode had absolute shitload of main heroine pantsu flashing. I haven't seen this sort of, uhh, framing in Tomino anime much so my reaction was to be baffled rather than leer at low-resolution low-quality mid80s panties. :uhh:

Overman King Gainer

Image
This design is so cool
Image
dis sum Sharon Apple tier trippy and creepy virtual idoling

Oh wow, I don't have all that clear idea of everything that happened but I did like it a lot nevertheless. Strange and fun atmosphere, interesting setting and art style and great mecha action. If I had to bitch about something I could bitch about Tomino rushing beginning of episode in extreme breakneck fashion but even that is small complaint when put next to everything else.

So yeah, King Gainer didn't disappoint with its first episode.

This would be three thumbs up and one down. Pretty promising samples.

Yeah, I love it too. It just hast so much potential! There was an announcement, that a second part was in the making... But that's now 3 years into the past (so ancient history) without any updates. Also, the director of Cencoroll did the character-design for Tsuritama... But I hold out hope, since the Key Visual is still there on the official website.

The best stuff is the beginning. From now on it's going downhill slowly, only to have one really nice Episode... To hit rock bottom faster than you can write your name into the note. Escape while you still can, or read the Manga. There you have at least the beautiful art.

Don't wander off, this one reveals it's story very gradually. I didn't know, what was going on until Episode 4, and then there's the great Episode 5 which in itself is hard to grasp, if you're not attentive enough. Though don't bother thinking too much. The overall story is as simple as it could be. It's just presented in the most artsy and pretentious way possible. Which I love.

One hopes not - feels like he's been around ages when you see his work in stuff like L-Gaim but he's not much more than 50 iirc. (also married to Maria Kawamura aka Jung Freud, apparently. who says animators have no prospects?)

On that note, have you (or anyone else) seen this vanity project of his Gothicmade? There's promo stuff for it floating about the web and it looks to be crazy mecha fantasy with ridiculous character designs as per usual but I've never heard anyone say a word about it, much less seen a copy of the film itself. 0 reviews on MAL, etc.

Izubuchi was who my mind immediately jumped to. What's he busy with? Bear in mind there's been no announcement of studio or anything like that, wouldn't be surprised if the project was a few years from hitting the screen.

Honestly though part of me would prefer them to go off in some crazy ass direction and totally miss the point of the books in favor of furious space battle sakuga or half the characters being turned into little girls in space high school or really whatever. We've already had one sober-as-a-judge adaptation of the novels, give me something else please. Something as out of touch as Golden Wings, but actually good.

Got to watch Blazing Transfer Student. It's a two part OVA manga adaptation by 90s Gainax, except that they made it look like some Ashita no Joe mock-up with the heavy use of tick lines, stock footage and Go Nagai-esque sideburn character designs. The plot is one nonsensical gag parody from every fighting cliche you can ever find. It is not as wild as Kill la Kill but I found it interesting in its obvious influence. If Trigger's work is that of a newly arrived tranfer student who renders homage for the old school-fighting genre, Honoo no Tenkousei is the 20 years elder senpai albeit on a much smaller scale. The hot-blooded protagonist is spoken by Senketsu too, and since they are both picking on the same sort of genre, Transfer Students' mangaka Shimamoto has done a crossover doujin just recently. Also nice touch hearing Hidaka Noriko in a classic Gunbuster-like role again.

Xard, if you're going to watch Zambot 3, you might as well follow it up with Daitarn 3 because they're typically seen as the two halves of the Tomino coin. Zambot was the early kill'em all series, whereas Daitarn was the early hyper-wacky happy Tomino series. There's even some overarching symbolism at work: Zambot uses the Moon as its emblem whereas Daitarn uses the Sun.

Also, since you've started watching Xabungle, you should be watching the AXSUS_Hat version which uses the best video files currently available. They're up to episode 47, so they should have the entire series out very soon.

Speaking of FSS, I've seen pictures of the full English-language manga collection posted on /m/, but needless to say, it is basically like the Holy Grail at this point, and it's not considered something you can collect.

Macross 7 ep 44:
SPOILER: Show
OH MY GOD WHY IT JUST KEEPS HAPPENING GAMLIN NOOOOOOOO

This is riveting. I might finish it before breakfast.

EDIT: And I did! While it was certainly a rocky and annoying experience for the first 17 episodes or so I got with the program soon afterwards and never tired of Basara and his disregard for everything but his song until it was over. It was fun throughout and I really liked the music (specifically Holy Lonely Night, Fly Away, Submarine Street and My Friends) even compared to Frontier and Plus, though admittedly it shares little in common with either. The Protodeviln were bizarre and I'm still not sure I really get what they are but they were good foils for Basara and his song.

SPOILER: Show
I don't know what to make of Mylene deciding she likes both Basara and Gamlin. I don't think I like it though.

If nothing else I'm glad I watched it for the opportunity to see flowergirl (who is without question the best) remain devoted.

edit EDIT: I'm currently downloading both aquarion series, per Xard's instruction. I have no diea what I'm getting into.

Currently watching Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions.

I'm on Episode 2, and I'm liking it so far. I enjoy most of Kyoto Animation's work, so I'm guaranteed to find something I like in it.

"Shorty?!? Can a shorty do this?!?" -Edward Elric (FMA)
"I've had many lives, many faces. But there is one face I try to forget..." -The Doctor (Doctor Who)
"So say we all!" -Admiral Adama (Battlestar Galactica)
"The only impossible is impossibility!" -Phineas Flynn (Phineas and Ferb)

@Xard: Well, ok. You proved me wrong, at the time Kare Kano was released the characters were pretty edgy and new it seems. Doesn't diminish their annoyingness in the least though.

The Sky Crawlers or be my Basset

This one surprised me. I expected a verbose, lengthy Oshii film, but somehow the atmosphere really captured me which unexpectedly really entertained me. Also, there were not as much over-your-head-but-ultimately-vapid-and-unrealistic-as-fuck-„philosophical“-talks as I had expected. Very little shoehorned philosophy. On the surface this movie actually is quite down to earth, revealing its true colors only if you make the effort to dig a little. This is, IMHO, the best way to handle philosophical topics in movies. You needn't even be too keen on overthinking the shit out of it to still be entertained. But of course, this being an Oshii-flick, overanalyzing and overthinking is where the fun starts.
On a superficial level the Sky Crawlers’ plot was like Last Exile only with a little less ugly CG in the air and like Major Kusanagi’s Teenage Dairy of Despair on the ground. Really lovely. But, as I said, being a movie by Oshii there is enough substance hidden beneath the glossy surface which allows dig a little deeper.

SPOILER: Show
Image
It's all about the Basset.

I especially liked the interpretation of ANN, even though I had quite a different but not as intriguing interpretation of it.
The characters… Oh wait. It’s a Oshii Movie. No characters there, just puppets for the plot. Yet it works for the duration of the movie, so that’s okay for me. I'd like to suggest some room for improvement though, which will become apparent a little further down the line of this essay. As you’d expect, the animation is beautiful. Yes; for all the dynamic it provides, the CGI already looks a little bit dated (so go watch it now, before it becomes unwatchable), but they really have gone a long way to animate the Basset accordingly in return. All of his movements just burst of character, it’s a joy to watch. This unfortunately does not apply to the „humans“ in the story. They are animated beautifully fluid on a superficial level, but there’s no substance to it. None of the depicted people in it act with their body. They all dither like chess figures, without even one personal quirk of going about their daily routines. Yes, one person has a very special way to read the paper, but this is only necessary for the plot and not the character. And believe me, this movie takes the time to force this one quirk down your throat.
"Who needs fleshed out characters in a two hour movie, it only distracts from my deep message!", seems to be the inherent mindset of Oshii, if you love to be cynical. Yet it's basically true; you could exchange all the puppets with other ones, because none of them is distinguishable from each other, let alone interesting. This goes as far as they even ditch one major principle of character-design, namely that the characters are distinguishable by silhouettes. Just muttering one line after the other lifelessly doesn't help to enkindle sympathy either. They seem to be considered as things to move the plot. This is a pity, because even if Oshii was aiming for the most inhumane characters possible, a movie with an animation-budged as big as this one obviously had, could have afforded to animate the different people in it a little bit more lovely. I’m talking about subtle things, like differences in how each of the characters handles his/her smoking habits, or the way they walk. In my opinion, this wouldn't have destroyed the cold atmosphere in the slightest and give the story another edge, since I might have been able to care about its protagonists. Also, the character-designs might be one of the most ugliest I’ve ever come across (some shots of Kusanagi gave me the shivers, that’s how hollow and soulless she looks, which is a feat in it itself). So everything points to the fact that it was intended to let the "characters" in it seem as emotionally void as possible. Not only to alienate the viewer, but also to not distract from all the subtext this movie is trying to convey. They managed that brilliantly. But if you like a strong cast, you could consider The Sky Crawlers' cast as a major flaw as well. There is nothing to gain from the characters, which forces you to focus on other stuff. That's a pretty heads on, blatant way to guide the viewer to the meat of the story.
I enjoyed the greenish nature setting a lot. If you compare it to Innocence this movie had very little astonishing shots, it stays pretty subtle. There’s no awe-inspiring sequence for the sake of being pretty. The green grass might be lush and meticulously detailed, but there’s nothing overly spectacular to be seen. The few arial shots and the dynamic flight-sequences almost pulled off a moment full of awe, but as the CG is not state of the art anymore, they just barely manage not to be a eyesore now.
Almost all of the movie’s music consists of one piece. But it’s a neat piece of music nevertheless. Very atmospheric, and it manages to convey the impression, that there is one stringent theme humming along its running time. Which could be considered as good. Or you could compare it to all the other soundtracks of his and say this was a lazy attempt. I’m not sure which side I’ll take in this matter. But it’s not bad per se, and it gets it’s job done. It’s just no masterpiece IMHO.
Wow, I wrote a lot about the animation, but if you think about it, that’s the only thing you can talk about in an Oshii movie rationally, because everything else is worthy of discussion. It depends on what the viewer takes from the movie. Which makes the sky crawlers hard to rate, because it entirely depends on what you think is important in a movie. You can dwell on the many flaws if you rate it with a „how to entertain the masses“ - approach, but those flaws exist because the staff consciously chose to approach this movie in a pretentious way and not because they didn’t know better.
So if you’re into animation-porn this movie might be to your liking. It gets even better if you appreciate the atmosphere and use the movie as a vessel for food for thought, because that’s how this movie unfolds its full potential and makes it interesting and worth your time. Or your into Basset-porn. Than this is the shit. I personally accepted all this wasted potential and managed to delve into the stuff it does good, so I had a good time. But then again, I would have loved the movie for the Basset-porn alone, which was fluffy to the max, so who am I to recommend this thing?

Genius Party is anthology film, not series! You're supposed to watch them in one go. Hell, the so-called "episode 1" is just title sequence for the feature, not much of a standalone piece.

Kara no Kyokai is one story told in seven chapters which just happened to be adapted into films. They're barely stand alone pieces at all. The first film/chapter is chronologically fourth and basically introduces viewer to Shiki and the dark Nasuverse she inhabits. "Character development" isn't really point of it. Also to nitpick: Meanwhile film 2 hardly features character development for first film's Shiki as chronologically speaking second feature is the first one and development seen in it is more backstory than anything else. :P

Yeah he's about Anno's age. Funnily enough there's this old and long persistent urban legend that Tomino's and Nagano's relationship broke down completely during making of Zeta Gundam due to love triangle with duo and Kawamura - which Nagano ended up winning. This piece of internet "knowledge" hardly seems trustworthy however, especially given it was apparently Tomino's wife who introduced would-be pair to each other. (Maria Kawamura in turn was Tomino's "find" as far as seiyuus go and her first major role was playing the ferario from Dunbine).

Sorry to say but this is first time I've even heard of Gothicsmade. I did some digging around and found out that it's real film alright and it came out already in 2012 but there's no home release of it anywhere. One can't find any link to buy it even from film's homepage!

Japanese wiki explained the reason why. The film was done in 4K resolution and because Nagano is retardedly perfectionist about "muh colours" and all I don't think there will be home release before the day 4K becomes standard. So uhh, happy waiting I guess. :|

You can find 3min long trailer/footage with this from nyaa however:

I think they announced 2199 film when the series ended so he's working on that now.

Izubuchi I consider precisely because of 2199 but I think Anno could do great job if he stuck to just adapting someone else's material faithfully (not gonna happen of course, given Anno's individuality and obsistent honesty to himself). Anno is probably the best Kihachi Okamoto impersonator and Okamoto had very specific touch to adapting "war room" dramas like that film about last day's of WWII. In fact the heavy use of captions etc. in Yamato and LotGH seems to come from Okamoto just as strongly as in Anno's case.

Anno's neo-okamoto sensibilities as seen in e.g. Gunbuster ep 6 and NGE ep 6 would fit absolutely perfectly LotGH. Or heck, look at the war room plannign scenes from Gunbuster ep 5 with all the deviously clever framing and forceful going on to enhance the effect of scene. He has also many times demonstrated his ability to work with classical music very well. So if Anno stuck to his neo-okamotomism (as opposed to, say, his EoEself or comedic self) I imagine he could approximate Ishiguro in all the best ways while also bringing eye for more visual punch and creativity in terms of form. Anno has also gone on record in late 90s about considering LotGH good anime so it's not like he hates the material either.

Then again, considering how lolanno he managed to make even his over the top campy Cutie Honey adaptation(s) I doubt Anno would be interested in being all that loyal to source material unless it's freaking Yamato or Nausicaa.

I had AXSUS version but I dl'd AXSUS_Hat after seeing this post. I don't really see any difference between the two though

View Original Postcaragnafog dog wrote:And I did!

Yeah, Macross 7 improves dramatically after extremely trying early series. It's still half longer than it should be and kinda ass in many aspects (mecha combat for one) but further you get better series's charm points start to work on you. I was pretty harsh on the series when I first saw it but I have much warmer opinion of it nowadays. The core change that happened was that I went from hating Basara to shouting BOMBAAH. Poor 7, too long I treated you as if you were Macross II. :(

Now you need to go and watch:

Macross 7 Encore
Macross 7 - The Galaxy is Calling Me!
Macross Dynamite 7

aka the best parts of the whole subfranchise and in general steps above the tv series. Encore is 3 bonus episodes set during late tv series phase. The one focusing on Fire Bomber's origins is pretty fine but the other two are the very best Macross 7 episodes ever made. Miria episode is pure comedy gold while Fleet of the Strongest Women is pure entertainment goodness and probably the best love letter to DYRL franchise has.

Galaxy is the only "film" of the franchise but it's really 40 minutes long special episode, again set during late series. Just like Encore episodes it's among the best 7 episodes and really fun piece of Macross 7 nonsense. It was written by Kawamori which shows in positive way - though I really wish he hadn't put that fucking kid in. If not for him this would be maximally BOMBAAA. Still, it's minor issue when on other hand we get hilariously epic song battles (literally), giantess fetish fuel and singing to flowers. Literally.

Dynamite 7 is the sequel OVA to tv series and quite easily my favourite part of subfranchise. It's what happens when Macross 7 meets Moby Dick, proceeds to molest him and then turn remains of the book into rather trippy and over the top anti-whaling piece in true BOMBAA fashion. Leaving aside rather pointless 7 fleet clips (herp anniversary work obligatory cameos) I think it's pretty golden. It has my favourite incarnation of Basara (adventurer travelling across universe with his guitah and making everyone listen to his song!), much better dramaturgy than tv series, lots and lots of sheer weirdness and dirty hippie nonsense AND my favourite song from subfranchise by a landmile. Other new songs are pretty sweet too, especially the ED. Needless to say Dynamite 7 was again personally written by Kawamori, no one else obsesses with this kind of nonsense in the industry.

I don't know what to make of Mylene deciding she likes both Basara and Gamlin. I don't think I like it though.

I was immensely buttlasted when I found out Macross 7 had Star Driver end. It's all the worse given how hard Gamlin gets pushed through the story and overall it just comes off as executive meddling. "You can't have main hero lose!"

View Original Postcaragnafog dog wrote: I'm currently downloading both aquarion series, per Xard's instruction. I have no diea what I'm getting into.

Oh boy, way to make me sound like a bad guy. :hahaha: :hahaha:

Sousei no Aquarion: Audiovisual feast despite dated CG because Kawamori-Kanno, pretty good story ideas and some nice characters almost completely wasted because Kawamori lost perspective having so much fun experimenting with CG and making old school super robot Monster of the Week episodes almost straight for 20 episodes before remembering there was a story to tell (final act is unsurprisingly the strongest part of series), orgasm gattai, best episode about cosplay ever and some really grating "filler". Overall mixed package of genuine greatness and all too real awfulness. Its biggest problems are the whole MotW thing and resulting s-l-o-w pacing and character development (and some really annoying characters). On the other hand standalone episodes are rarely bad per se and some are great. Sweet ending also helps to heal the wounds of endless repetition of SOUSEI GATTAI GO AQUARION nonsense.

Sousei no Aquarion film/OVA: Retelling so it's more of the same but all around this is stronger version of same story. Story and inconsistency issues are taken care of and most annoying characters are either improved or killed before the film even properly starts. This is also the only anime in existence that has male pregnancy as major plot point so yeahhhh lolkawamori. Standard recommendation for those who just want to see Evol without wanting to slug through original tv series but since you managed to dig Macross 7 enjoying Aquarion tv series should not be that much of a challenge. This is still worth checking out after series though.

Aquarion Evol: Largerly independent, stand alone sequel to original. Visually and aurally it's still very luxurious with gorgeous art, good animation and excellent soundtrack - and this time around CG mecha look very good for most part too! Stylistically and in terms of setup Evol is arguably much blander than Sousei with its bizarro mythology wank but otherwise a lot better in each respect. The cast is much more lovable, the hijinks and trademark Aquarion weirdness has got a lot better overall and the balance of nonsense "themed" episodes with telling continuous story is lightyears ahead the original. It's not masterpiece or anything but very funny comedy-drama-comedy mecha anime. For the first cour or so. Then the series starts to collapse in various ways and troll the shit out of viewers who got too invested in it (cough) because Mari Okada can't handle large cast like this at all, main characters are generally terribly handled (at least side characters stay strong through it all) and there was obvious not-giving-a-fuck-I-am-here-for-the-ride attitude on Kawamori's end that comes through interviews and various questionable "yeah sounds fun" decisions made on the fly. Whether or not Evol stays good and very entertaining untill the end despite its flaws or whether it is reduced to mediocrity/level of original series depends on who you ask. Even the negative reviews generally admit it stays entertaining till the end so, uhh, even in worst case scenario you get something like Geass R2 instead of Blood-C.

Me, I can't comment on Evol because that series ended up being such a traumatic experience. I mean, it's honestly pretty fun and entertaining ride till the end (which is mostly very good and fittingly bombastic and nonsensical) despite its numerous issues but I can't get over how much better this could've been and how badly the second cour disappointed me. I must rewatch all of Aquarion one day to finally purge myself from Evol's ghost. :|

Anyway, it's franchise that revolves around orgasm gattai, ridiculous Lesson of the Weeks and willful dumbness. Keep that in mind and the ride should not be too rough.

Shoujo Sect: Innocent Lovers - A decent little offering that proves you can get away with almost anything in an all girls' school. I'm pretty sure that if the protagonist has a long time crush yet keeps kissing other girls after getting her wish then it counts as cheating. As for the scene of the crush encountering the protagonist in a compromising position with a rival, it kind of reminded me of the encounter in Legend of the Blue Wolves for some reason, only this one resulted in a punch to the face and no Lorena Bobbitt consequence to the evil one.

Weeel, shit. -o-;

View Original PostXard wrote:Kara no Kyokai is one story told in seven chapters which just happened to be adapted into films. :P

It wouldn't have brought the bootyblast half as hard had Basara not been shown, over and over, to be completely indifferent to romance.

Thanks for the rundown of the extra M7 stuff and Aquarion, will get to soon.

Nichijou episodes 1-8
I'm enjoying it thus far most of the comedy is hit rather than miss.
SPOILER: Show
ImageMan v Deer.
Certainly my favorite moment, it physical comedy at it's best and the character on the receiving end is the most unlikely victim. The only question I had after that sequence was what prior experience Mr. principle had to deliver such a great German suplex.( The show already had several references to a masked wrestler so I'm expecting a back story for him at some point.) Hey, I mean at least it's not the most inappropriate thing you could do with a deer.Image

Mio chan you're really letting slip, we all have skeletons in our closets but, it seems you have a graveyards worth. Anyway...I'd be more excited if I hadn't spoiled myself watching a clip of Mio's breakdown on YouTube a while ago. Don't get me wrong though, I still find it hilarious just how far she's willing to go to keep her secret. Also, it's another reminder of just naive both Yuko and Sakurai sensei are.

I'll continue to update as I watch.
