Me neither. I honestly don´t know if I just didn´t pay enough attention to what was happening or if I missed some kind of reference.

Or maybe they just wanted to screw with us.

^The audience has been screwed with since ep 1.

At first I thought why such retro mediums, but then again, the books would be the most retro of them all so 20th century storage mediums make sense.

The wholes series (but the most recent episode in particular) reminds me of of Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. It's meant to be a satire and parody of everything Sci-Fi. To point out the inherent absurdity at the heart of the Genre.

I'm not too sure if this is intentional (people watching think it is), but tracking back to episode 8, did anyone here pay attention to the fridge that Meow ate out of on the scrap planet? It seemed kind of familiar...

Perhaps Watanabe felt like nodding to fans who watched his older work? If so, it seems that some species are now immune to expired Ganymede lobster...

I'd say that's the fridge from Bebop with 99% certainty.

The theory is that all of Watanabe's works (and a few of his contemporaries),all take place in the same universe just in different time periods. The same way Quentin Tarantino says all his films do.

Wasn't it confirmed that it was 2 cour from the start? I thought it was going to be continuous though.

Space Dandy episode 13: One of the high points of the anime. This episode was worth watching for the animation alone, not to mention its other qualities.

Picked it up again after putting it on hold. This has become really fun. Zombie, loli, space surfing and space race episodes were all great.

Yeah, the show has turned into a pretty good watch. I didn't have high hopes after the first couple of episodes, but realizing that the show is trying to carry itself on its gags, there were some pretty outstanding episodes. One that comes to mind is the Plants are Living Things.

Plants are living things too, baby. Yeah, that was my favorite episode. On the whole I think there was some fluctuation in the quality of the episodes but even the weaker ones turned out to be average rather than bad, thus my assessment of Space Dandy is certainly positive.
