I thought it was funny just for the absurdity of it, the visuals were great too, I'm really liking all the different worlds that Dandy visits in each episode.

So is Zombie ep still the only very good episode in the series or not? I couldn't give shits anymore about airing series and put everything on hold a while back.

Was the zombie episode the last one you saw? There were some great episodes after that, episodes 5, 8 and 9 (the most recent one) were all great in my opinion, 6 and 7 less so, but the ending of episode 6 was extraordinary.

episode 9 was great. For me, the whole episode had a sort of Kaiba-vibe to it with the aesthetics.

Dandy and Co.'s rate of actually registering the new aliens they find is worse than the Bebop crew's record of collecting bounties and I still wonder how they cover expenses. Then again, the series has gone through so many different "endings" that this seems to be a non-issue now this far in.

At this point no one is expecting an actual plot with Dandy and the evil space emperor but I wouldn't mind a multi-episode story at this point, a 2-parter would be great.

I'm with sora; KLK might be the AOTY, but I'm happier catching Dandy every week...it just appeals to my sensibilities more. It's has the hallmarks of a Watnante show: Trio of characters on a pretty vague goal, an exotic atmosphere every episode or so, an emphasis on music, artistic expression becoming part of the story, a touch of poignancy to some of the minor characters. With those in mind, it's a shame the forums here aren't catching it, because right now, there's no other anime like it. Really, by the time the show is over, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a beloved classic when it's over, just like with Bebop.

I agree, Space Dandy is a great show, certainly one of the best things I'm watching this season and the most original anime I've seen in a while, it's refreshing to see something so unique emerge from a sea of generic shows.

I'm having a lot of fun with Space Dandy. It's just such a unique show in every sense of the word. Never really seen anything like it.

Also @robersora I actually prefer the dub as well. Watanabe's stuff usually translates VERY well into English, and this one is no exception.

I'm on the fence about this one. I like Watanabe's works, but this looks terrible. Opinions, EGFers?

It's definitely not for everyone. But if you're into a South Park-style of humor with some really good animation then yeah check it out. If you like Watanabe's other stuff you'll probably enjoy it as well.

I recommend it. It's just fun to watch and it really seems like they try to take a different approach to directing every episode. There's no continuity between the episodes so you can just watch any episodes, kinda like most of the cowboy bebop episodes.

I highly recommend watching episode 9 at the very least.

Maybe when the series is finished we'll see that the disjointedness and apparently random episodes actually do make sense in the larger scheme of things.

This is how endless eight should've been handled.

Who else was tricked into thinking that they might change directions and actually present a plot with the golgol empire vs dandy by the intro scene?

This show just keeps getting better and better. Episode 10 definitely gives off a cowboy bebop vibe with the addition of ridiculous time/warp thing.

So episode 11: How needs colors? It´s like I´m watching some sort of comedy version of Boogiepop Phantom.

Seriously now, the show needs to slow down a bit. All this... erm "artistic" episodes are fun, but don´t overuse them. The plant episode and the book episode felt like they were too close. They need to put some more "ligth" episodes in the middle to give a little more variety. Anyway, complaints aside, the next episode looks like it´s going to be fun.

Edit: my bad, it´s episode 11

I think you're referring to episode 11. Episode 10 is when they go to Meow's home planet and the art direction was pretty normal.

I thought episode111 was awesome with using charcoal stuff for the ships and background. We also got a snippet of information about how Dandy is such a danger to the golgol empire. I just found the ending to be weird and didn't get it at all.
