Well, the good news is ZZ is going to get a western release in the spring so you can see it then :asuka_thumbsup:

Why didn't Aida receive a slap after her stunt in episode 8 nearly killing off Bellri's mom?! It seems slapping has become a thing of the past in the recent Tomino series since episode 2 but in this case, I felt it would've been well deserved on her part. Aside from that missed opportunity, Manny getting her hair cut short after joining the Capital Army reminded me of Talho from Eureka Seven getting the same treatment. Also, Wilmit being in denial after Aida's father reveals there are forces in the moon planning something will likely get her killed if she doesn't accept reality.

Why should she get slapped? She thought it was the enemy.

I was half expecting Bellri to be the one to slap some sense into her for disobeying orders about protecting her dad as well but he's too pussywhipped by her charms to man up about it. :irked:

I'm on the verge of dropping Reconguista all together because I feel that with all due respect, Tomino doesn't know what he's doing in guiding the series to it's final destination. He has a protagonist Bellri Zenam who is a constant flip flopper with who he wants to take sides with concerning the conflict, who is also guided primarily by his loins which I can excuse in somebody like Banagher since there was better writing involved in detailing that relationship's stages. I can't get used to the animation both in the character and main Gundam which keeps reminding me of what a baby would design a Gundam to look like, it's annoying. IDK, I feel like this is it for me.

Bellri hasn't flip flopped at all. He is loyal to his mother/Capital Guard and has been working with the pirates out of obligation he feels for Aida. The Pirates/Amerians are trying to work together with the Capital Guard to counter the threat from space now.

Animation is quite good, all hand drawn - no CG, very detailed. Your problems seem to be art/design related.

anyway, Tomino isn't for everyone

Omg, the gorgeous art is the reason I've picked it up in the first place.

Yeah, I love the art too. It's vibrant yet gritty. The downside of digital coloring has always been the loss of certain warmness that comes with the imperfection of hand drawn but G Reco really goes out of its way to make it look like it was made on cels.

And the designs are mostly unique and fit with the world.

I liked that part too. In the last episode Aida made a bluff and now Bell thinks she is the experienced pilot.

Man, look at that Animation. So this will be a retelling of the original Gundam? I hope they make everything else as awesome as this Animation, so I might finally be able to watch this, an then understand Unicorn. (Correct me if I'm totally wrong here)

^It's not a retelling of the original tv show but an adaptation of volumes 5, 6 & 7 of the manga series where it delves on the backstory behind the main characters and the events that lead up to the One Year War.

On another note, isn't this an example of overthinking things: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-11-21/chinese-girl-wins-award-for-essay-comparing-gundam-seed-to-sino-japanese-relations/.81210

Japanese anime, manga, and games in China has helped act as a sort of "cultural exchange," by which Chinese citizens can "ascertain the true form of the other country."

...So Japan really is filled with multi-colored hair Schoolgirls in sailor outfits, weekly giant robots shenanigans, and super-powered martial artist espies? I knew it.

Yao concludes her essay by expressing her hopes for a future state of affairs between China and Japan similar to the "eternal peace at the end of Gundam Seed."

Noooooooo, Xard! Why did you changed your avatar pic? You were supposed to be the Sex God Bastard and Char's image was the perfect fit.

On topic: Origin looks sick. Most anticipated Gundam release since the last volume of Unicorn. Hope Sunrise will include eng subs with the release.
