Not all of Ooarai's final lineup is present in the OVA. The final 2 teams are missing since they didn't show up until the Finals, so everyone who did the dance in the church does it here. And I will give major props if someone actually cosplays as an anglerfish. ;)

Her name is based of Baron Nishi a Japanese tank ace who was also a top-notch horse jump champion and who used to wear his boots and spurs into battle so his troops would recognise him. Who watched Letters from Iwo Jima might remember.

Thought that their logo at first was shimapan, but then realized that it's probably supposed to be waves.

Edit: Saw a piece on NHK on May 5 about how the auto industry wants more young people to buy cars since domestic demand has been decreasing. They showed 2 GuP itashas at a show (Anilux or something) but didn't specify the series. The characters and a character banner also got closeups.

Watched this show during the weekend and enjoyed it. It's quite impressive how many characters they managed to stuff in it while still maintaining focus (I liked how some of the units acted as just one character, like the volleyball team), the battles were great and the animation was very high quality. They could have cut some of the moe out of it in favor of more action though (two episodes looking for tanks? Really? And a match skipped for this? Not cool), but in the end all is forgiven because of the scaling epicness of the matches. I'm now hunting for good quality OVAs, I was half expecting one of them to be the missing battle but apparently it's still in the works, so I guess they will be all about the sillyness, oh well, at least there are plenty of entertaining characters.
