The word 色トレス is "color trace". In animation it is used to used color pencil (pencil tool in CG) to trace the black outline so as to soften the shape and make it blur into the surrounding better.

Thanks, symbv. I hadn't though the design pages would be translated, otherwise I would have tried to post them a bit cleaner! Things are up on the wiki, a bit messy at the moment. I think for some we may see better quality scans for upgrading, though the translations shouldn't be affected by that.

I do feel better that I'm not the only one who'd have considered making a wish from QB. I wonder what wish Wada Aruko wants.

back in the day I didn't really like Ebata's art that much. For example cover art work for OST 1 has this strange plastic feel in skin texture and colours chosen - the final BD cover also has really "fake" feel and to be honest Ranka has such unnatural, inauthentic smile she looks like some random eroge character. In other words the artwork still occasionally carries the feel of stuff she did for Gravion.

But sometime after 2008 she's got really, really good and there's real warmth and beauty to her stuff - for example covers for pink monsoon and CMRanka (latter I've used as avatar on many ocasions) from 2009. Perhaps the easiest way too see the amazing development is to put Seikan Hikou (2008) and the God Tier Houkago Overflow (2011) next to each other


Where I'm getting with this babble: I really love that. The warm pastel tones are just great and overall the picture reminds me a lot of my current profile picture. Ebata did great job
