Frick, I recently finished a series, and now I've got so much on the go, I don't even know what to continue with.

SPOILER: Show

Watched Episodes 13 and 14 of Code Geass R1

Spoiler Spoiler  SPOILER: Show
LeLouch erased Shirley's memory? Faaaaaark.
At least that Mao fellow provided a good scenario even if he is a stalker and a dick.

Hopefully Suzaku will get to do something new soon, bored of seeing him do the same 'I'm anxious about people dying' routine. I suppose Kallen could also use some new perspective, but eh IMO can wait until after the Mao / Villetta bits are done.

Also, new OP song - first I was like WHAT but then I liked it.
Voluntary Illusion.

Episode 10 of Gosick was really good. Finally a mystery that made sense.

Victorica was really cute too. . .

Thankfully it wasn't. It happens after the last episode and gives us an opening for a 2nd season :w00:

I thought the first special (episode 12.5) was better.

Also having DURRR!! only on dvd is a crime, the glorious animation deserves better treatment :sniffle:

Fractale Ep.9

Did I hear entropy in this anime as well?

Part of the anime seems to have been cut, possibly because of concern about the earthquake and mass destruction...

^ Looks like the duct tapes police use to block out an area during investigation?

You do collect those duct tape scenes don't you? :)

Yeah, but it was inserted somewhat randomly and they occasionally throw in references so I wonder where this is from.

 Those were just off the top of my head

That's a very common motif from American police scenes. I think that's all there is to it.

Meh, maybe. But it wasn't in a scene with any police or whatever in it, just a random transition frame thing. I hope that I'll get an answer sometime

Rewatching Gankutsuou. I finally remembered what had been a niggling feeling in the back of my brain for the last few months - a show I'd seen at some point in the past of which Star Driver reminded me intensely. About two-thirds of the way through, I remember why - all this talk of best friends stealing fiancées while the strong-willed but unlucky sail the galaxy in their ships would fit right in on Southern Cross Island . This was one of my favorite anime once, I can't fathom why I'd almost forgotten it existed. Also it's solid gold when it comes to reaction images:

Borrower Arrietty blueray disc is finally available for pre-order (release date to be Jun 11). It broke the hegemony of Puella Magi Madoka Magika on anime BD top slot and is now #1 in Amazon JP ranking.

And you get an Arrietty's clothespin as an extra:

Gankutsuou is currently at the top of my rewatch list. I only recently discovered the soundtrack and I can't fathom how could only pay attention to marvelous OP/ED and not notice the great background music at all.

Yeah, a very nice soundtrack. I'm rather fond of its oscillations between hilariously old-school over-the-top orchestral cues and subtler more modern stuff with a lot of guitar. It's not really the sort of thing you expect from an anime, and it's used more cleverly than most anime OSTs. Actually that goes for a lot of Gankutsuou - it uses what it has to work with very, very cleverly.

I believe that dichotomy is the direct result of involving both works by actual classical composers (e.g. Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff) and having an actual rock artist (Jean-Jacques Burnel) on the production team. I think it really worked with the retro-future.

You're just watching Negima!? ?

For some reason I thought you would've watched that ages ago. But yeah its great. Its one of the few SHAFT shows that even has an US release. :D The OP is even in English.

Finished Mononoke. Cool, cool. Also about half way through Soul Eater. Really not that bad, fun setting, legit characters.
