When Lara Croft arrived on the scene that was it, the video game icon, video game babe, hit the big time. Much like how Rei has become one of if not the most recognisable face in animation.

Yes she was, in fact I like Samus better than Lara. Well, I cannot help what effect my words might have. The fact remains however that before people were playing Tekken, Toshiden, Crash, ect the Sonic and Mario games and systems, as well as the likes of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were the top selling and most beloved titles at the time.

That's not what I took issue with. You're comment seemed to suggest that everything before the Playstation was just marking time. That's what annoyed me.

In a sense, that's the impression a lot of people had. Though y'know something that bothers me is how before games are just for kids and now that there are adults into it games are too violent.
