The Guy on The Plane in Episode 7, or one of those other corporate scumballs.

No.

No Ah-nuld.

Please.

Thank You.

Yes, and Walter Koenig too! He could be Keel; we know he can be really evil, because he played Bester on Babylon 5.

The problem is he's the only one of the original series cast who still looks too young to play one of those crusty old SEELE geezers Image

But yeah, Bester = pwnage. See also Masterminds (with Patrick Steward as the bad guy) and Gargoyles (with Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Kate Mulgrew as bad guys, and guest starring Levarr Burton, Michael Dorn, Brent Spiner... Jesus, is there anyone from TNG who WASN'T on Gargoyles?)

...to boldly go... where no lillim has gone before.

James T. Ikari: Bones, I need those dummy plugs prepared by 02:00 hours.

Dr "Bones" Akagi: Dammit Jim! I'm a doctor, not a racecar.

James T. Ikari: Tell that to those Klingons out there who want to start 3rd Impact and give all mankind boney-looking foreheads.

Maya Scott, what's the status on the MAGI super-computer?

Maya "Scotty" Scott: I can't give her anymore Captain. I'm giving her all she's got.

Funny, but stupid-funny. That would be the dumbest idea ever, other than someone thinking that Asuka could be played by Hilary Duff. That was just stupid.

Hence, the entire point of my last post.

Other than maybe a small cameo, they should keep anyone associated with another franchise far away...

...and Hilary Duff just because.

More people who should be in this movie:

Gendo = David Warner

Fuyutsuki = Harvey Keitel

Boring Old Teacher = Malcolm McDowell

you're not teh hardcore :)

j/k
Hideaki Anno, creator and (main) director of Evangelion, made two live-action films. People have been waiting to see them since forever. Viz licensed Love & Pop but have done nothing but sat on it for years. Shiki-Jitsu was never licensed. But now they have surfaced among various bittorrent circles.

IMDB has put up a page for the as of yet "Untitled Evangelion Project" with a proposed release date of 2005. The page currently contains very few details, stating merely that the film is in pre-production, and the genre is an "Action/Fantasy/Sci-fi". Keep your eyes on this page.

2005? How could they have it done so soon? I didn't even think this abomination had a studio to fund it yet.

At lest we have a rough estimate for the date of the apocalypse.

That IMDB page is dead wrong. Matt Greenfield himself said the earliest it would come out is 2006.

Most of the new WETA art posted on trivialbeing.net is just old stuff close up but there is a cool pic of the EVA cockpit.

"Gargoyles" references? W00t! That show still kicks arse (even if half or more of the episodes have crappy Korean animation).

Xanatos and Gendou are both megalomaniacs, true, but they are completely different types of megalomaniacs. Ol' David is kind of the crazy, charismatic, fun-loving kind (the evil incarnation from "Future Tense" nonwithstanding -- that was just Puck frelling with Goliath's brain, anyhow) who enjoys creating temporal paradoxes, flying around in battle armor, and having karate matches with his half-fey wife, whereas Gendou is the dark, brooding, self-loathing sort with a weakness for green-eyed women and Mickey Mouse gloves who wouldn't think twice about turning everyone on Earth into Tang. Both equally prone to puppeting others to serve their own nefarious purposes, but that's about all they have in common.

No Jonathan Frakes as Gendou, please. Image Gendou actually looks Asian enough that they should get an Asian guy to play him.

How is Gendo a megalomaniac? He thinks the only person who can love him is Yui. If he was a megalomaniac he would think everyone loves him.

I like Jonathan Frakes! Though not as Gendo, I don't think he could pull off the coldness.

And I don't think Gendo looks very Asian, at lest not compared to other Asians (I can only assume) in the show.

See what I mean?

Just for reference, a front view.

Actually I think he looks very asian, just that he doesn't look like a stereotype asian.
