Maybe but it's 'moral' lesson applied more to the general populace and not just teenagers. Just because it has teens in it, that does not make it a teen movie. So, have crappy angst bands do all the music for it would most certainly create a less broad demographic and, like I said, take away from its credibility as, hopefully, a good movie.

the last thing I expect is a true-to-the-original version. The original version is so damn weird, any attempt to re-create it in live action will be very different (unless they do a shot-by-shot remake, which won't be interesting really).

I wouldn't mind a version stylistically different from the original, and with any luck it'll be good too. I mean, if it sucks, there's always the original. It's not like that'll ever disappear.
