Ahhh... Religion. The Opium of People.

I know a guy who went to one of those church holyday get-togethers. Spent a week there.

ONE WEEK.

When he got home, he burned all his porn. Videos, Magazines, you name it. Worth a few hundred bucks.

After the "effects" passed, he literally screamed, so pissed off he got. The church literally did a brain-wash on the guy.

I'm dead serious.

And that's not the only case i know. My best friend, the only person i loved (no, not that way, silly beans) in my entire life, one day came to me and went "i can't have a friend like you - but if you become one with Jesus then we could still be friends".

Can't for the life of me see anything good in that.

Anyway...

I've tried to kill myself because of Eva. It was after the row of Asuka-centric episodes (the carrier one, the lava one, etc). I couldn't stand the pain, so i tried to kill myself. Six times.

I went out of bullets, so i gave up.

I still have one reason to live, after all...

I have to friend like that also....but he ins't that really serious, during group work, he only preach about Jesus and even tried to convert one of the teachersImage But we all got accustomed to him so nothing really serious like what you said.

It wasn't too sad. Think of it this way - Shinji, unlike most people, can say that he is the sexiest male alive. And he also has a fairly good chance of getting it on with the sexiest female alive.

Heres what hapens to people that watch evangelion

1) they begin watching
2) Asuka comes in
3) they buy a lot of random Eva toys and models and everyting relating to Asuka\Rei
4) they become rabid fans
5) they make stuff up about random things that are never said or hinted at, like who pilot the MP evas/
6) they kill themselves after they turn 46 and realise they live in their moms basement, and they spent 800 dollars on a 1/1 scale Asuka langely\Rei

no it isn't.

(and BTW: MP's were piloted using dummy-plug of Kaworu's soul, it says so in EoE)

People are strange in some way why would you kill yourself watching an anime kinda stuipd to me and there not even running away from problems either like people who commit to killing themself i heard so one kill themself because the lost all his Yu-gi-oh card wtf i just paper and you kill yourself over it just like this is anime and you killself over it why would be my answer all the time.Never seem anything in Evangelion to make you want to kill yourself i guess some people use anything excuse to kill themself.

That letter from the mother...that is someone unable to face the fact that they tried to brainwash their kid with religion, force feed it down his throat, then most likely held him to some rediculous standard and pushed him to the edge......no, it couldn't be all that, it had to be the anime. Image

What a crock of ....

Although my reasons for being Athiest lay in a life long realization that I never believed in the first place, I certainly view crap like this as a bonus of being an Athiest.

Its not just the fact that he was christian that this happened. It is the fact that he was not intreduced to other possablites. Evangelion just opened up a door of revelation in him, and he couldn't take it.

I've read sites about it but I wouldn't beleieve just what's on the internet or even in a newspaper. I wouldn't be suprised though. Some people just can't handle it. EoE was very depressing when I saw it. But the end of the the Evangelion TV series is inspirational. And I don't think EoE is that depressing when you understand it, since it is essentially the same ending.

Eva wrote:People are strange

I second that.

" People are strange
Wen you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem wicked
Wen you're unwanted
Streets are uneven
Wen you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange "

Now I am not being extreamist, or eliteist. I am just going to tell you the truth. There is no such thing as looking too deeply into Evangelion. You can interperate it anyway that you see fit. If you see it as just "another anime" equal to Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, or Yu Yu Hakusho then thats fine with me. But NEVER ever call someone who tries to apply a higher level of thinking on something an IDIOT!

Evangelion is not just an anime to me, and its not just an anime to others. It changed my life, and not just the fact that I became Otaku after seeing it. It changed the way that I think about life. It canged the way I saw others, and most of all it changed the way I looked at myself. And everyday that I'm around others I know Evangelion is right, people are affected by the interactions of others.People walk this earth to try and find an idenity for themselfs, thats what Evangelion taught me.

O and if your a troll and never look at this post, I'll hunt you down.

Bring it pal, the only thing Eva 'teaches' to anyone is to deal with their problems indirectly... and i did make a mistake.. eva is several steps above dragonball or gundam, but still, just another cartoon... entertainment, and poor entertainment at that.

Indirectly? When Shinji delt with his problems indirectly it caused the end of the world! I really think that would teacher people not to deal with there problems indirectly. Indirectly? During the last two episodes Shinji faces all his problem, Directly! WOW! He was forced to see all his problems and face all the people that he interacts with everyday. Some, toward then end, he did nothign but try to aviod. And lastly he learned that he could be anything he wanted to as long as he believed that he could. If he truely wished to be liked then he could. If anything, Evangelion teaches you that you could deal problems with directly and not worry about what others think. Did you even see the series, or are you just a troll who read about it.

Try, harder pal. I own it on dvd... (i'm selling it pluse the movies on ebay for 10 bucks)

Example: Shinji deals with his issues by being a whining Bitc& and ends the series as a whining bitc&

Yes i saw the series... "Congratulations."
''

Blah blah... That show was a waste of my time... and Asuka deals with her issues the same way, she's just more annoying.

Hahhahaha! Kaji was a great character though... A little too similar to me... Oh well... If you wanna argue more, email me directly, or IM or something... If i'm gonna lose an argument, i might as well do it in real time...
