3.0 Next Time Preview

Well I only found one thread where these were mentioned, and for some reason that thread was locked. I just was skimming through the preview of 3.0 and wondered if anyone was interested in what was stated on each sign that said "Keep Out". It doesn't seem to be anywhere in the Evapedia that I can find. The moderators can feel free to smack me down if I didn't look hard enough, but I thought they were interesting enough to share:

I assumed it was referring to the ending of 2.0 when Zeruel merged with Eva 01, since it's the same sign that says "ground zero" and "third impact."

I actually feel lucky that I was able to find my old post. (Boardtracker hasn't been very good to me lately.)

"Caption" is probably less confusing and more accurate than "sign".

Note that it's not just "Third Impact", it's "Near Third Impact". This seems to be a semi-Engrishy way of saying "Third Impact that almost happened but didn't".

Suffice to say "Tokyo-III / Near Third Impact / Ground Zero" is pretty self-explanatory, considering we actually see the city get trashed at the end of 2.0 (after the cut away from Red GNR), and the accompanying image in the preview is total episode #24 nostalgia.

They're using "keep out signs" as a thematic motif for the captions in the preview. They're giving us brief glimpses of the next movie, the bulk of which is currently "off limits" to the audience.

I guess it's possible that actual signs may appear somewhere in the movie, but for now they're just captions.

Hmm, prior to that, there is a blurb in the trailer about Nerv personnel being put under custody, and also a shot of Misato looking all "planning mode". And Kaji looks pretty dynamic in that gun pulling scene.

Maybe Kaji and Miasto will attempt a daring escape from wherever the hell they are being held? I might cry tears of joy if they would do that.

I guess that shot is from the "Seele's Children Assembly" event. The lighting in both shots (that is, the shot with the four shadows and the octagram with the astral/zodiac signs and the shot of Kaworu with wet hair) is pretty similar.

My guess is that the Children, or at least Kaworu will have to go through some sort of symbolic purification a la mikvah ritual, cause that's cool (if you recall, in EoE, Rei also spent some time in a Sephirotic pool of LCL for seemingly no reason befor the whole Third Impact deal).

It looks like Asuka will be piloting again given she gets ANOTHER new plugsuit. Pause at :22 of wonderlusters link, her suit has some kind of blue collar thang.

Yup, new plug suit. In addition to the modified collar it also looks like the plug suit has a darker shade of red but this is from the cam-rip so we can't say for sure about that it is a darker shade.

I wish there was a DVD rip already. =_=
