While the Funimation announcement was not Eva related like we had hoped, their announcement of dub simulcasts has me thinking, does this open the possibility of them being able to show Final in theaters with a dub at the same time it is released in Japan?

Well, don't take anything from this, but Amazon did say in an email that Evangelion 3.33 shipping date was December 29, 2014 (Although this could be the same thing that happened before when my e-mail said it was going to be shipped in January of 2014 after they announced the "delay")

I believe someone got an email saying there is no release date according to the Eva geeks twitter, so it's almost certainly a placeholder
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

To be expected. I have my money on sometime before March. If we don't have the dub of 3.33 by that time, they may as well bundle it up with an un-subbed 3.0+1.0. I'd buy it.

To intensify trolling level watch them release it one year after the original release date. Then they will be like "he he we ment 2015, not 2014."

You really think they'd hold off a release that long? That would be a year and a half delay...that would be insane. Yet at the same time I could see it happening...sigh

It took them five years to do hellsing ultimate so this is no surprise from funimation. Sadly they release DBZ about every other month with few changes

Funi was a guest on Anncast recently and they talked more about 3.33 beyond the stuff they have said before. Basically they said that once Khara said they wanted to do their own subs they went back and redubbed some scenes to get things more in line.
