For anybody else that has the 1.0 complete book
Since iv been bored with no big news after the new trailer I started looking back over that exspensive hardcover 1.0 book that comes with the storyboards. And while looking at the story board b book icame across something kind of weird in the storyboard for the 2.0 preview. the last two frames are kind of different than what got in. Its of the scene where mari is lookink at the giant glowing crosses, but instead of just standing thre it looks like shes lifting something in the air with things on the ground around her?And in the next frame it looks like she is pushing her glasses up the same way Gendo does.I maybe reading too mutch into this but i thought those with the book might want to check it out.

Looks like she's doing the 'otaku pushing up glasses' pose. I can't tell what she's doing in the other one, but the text beside the pictures should give us a clue. I want to look these compounds up now, and I think you've hit on something here. This is extremely interesting so thanks for bringing it up (and taking pictures).
Do you have a picture of the whole page? Some text is going down vertically through a couple frames.

I don't see any text that labels the blobs on the ground.
Also, dead image link is dead.

LOL. Crudely drawn storyboards eh? And i thought you were referring to actual screenshots from the short preview we got from 1.0. Interesting shot. Though i think we should avoid drawing conclusions from such a crudely drawn image. Is Mari grinning there? And i wonder if this even made it into the final cut?

It does say that she's using the same gesture as "Ge," and I'm sure we who that is.
Mari being his daughter isn't anything people haven't thought of before, however. Especially among Japanese fans. But that is interesting that they thought of hinting at it so overtly. I still think she's Yui's clone because Gendo likes to get his sex0r on.

Well, even if such a relation was planned at the time, or maybe even later, despite this reference not making it into the final thing (for some other reason then)...
There was so much time in between, for all we know they could have thrown their entire concept from then away and do something completely different.
