Any news of Eva 1.0 appearing in New York City/Philly?

I know that the main site would probably have a blurb if anything became official, but has anyone heard any vague rumblings, rumors, or perhaps rumors of rumors about Eva showings in this area? I'm about four hours from DC but that's a real haul just to watch a movie.

I would imagine that it would show at conventions or something

ye olde animecons map: http://www.animecons.com/events/map.shtml ,

lists the following in that area:

Castle Point Anime Con (March)
I-CON (April)
AnimeNEXT (June )
New York Anime Festival (Septembe)
Zenkaicon (November)

They're showing it in D.C., but I don't know if your in the area
Question: "who the hell do you think I am?"
Answer: "My name is Mr. Snrub and I come from some place far away....Anyway, I say we invest that money back in the nuclear plant. "
"I like the way Snrub thinks!"

-he said "four hours"...that isn't "near" DC

-he didn't say north or south, and NYC/Philly implies north of DC

well again according to ye olde animecons.com website, it seems that Pittsburgh has "Tekkoshocon" each April....oddly, Tiffany Grant and Matt Greenfield *usually* come, but this year they are not.

Through the wonders of automobiles, one could feasibly get up at 7:00, which isn't especially early, make the trip to DC, catch the movie, hang out with a bunch of Eva fans afterward for an hour or two, and be home by 8 or 9. It's a trip, but it's totally doable. The question is, can you handle a four hour car trip, and do you mind spending 30 bucks on gas? Car pool with some of your friends, and it's a lot easier.

I remember me, Rachel, and Otaprince of Gainax Pages went on a roadtrip in 2005 to do an Eva panel with Brendan Jamieson of EvaOtaku.com and Carl Horn of Viz/Dark Horse. It was a lot of fun. That was a 7+ hour car trip just from Pittsburgh where we met up. It was 3+ hours for me to get to Pittsburgh, and I think ~5 hours for Rachel. There was a lot of driving involved.

One of my fondest memories is of driving cross-country from California last year so no, long drives aren't a problem for me. But since I have a practical skills test for EMT that same day, it's pretty much a moot point. Although it would've been nice to go to a city I'm not familiar with and chill with some other Eva fans. Although most of my friends like anime most of them don't like Eva.
Maybe if something happens in my area, we could all party up in NYC/Philly/Jersey.

Well it depends really. What time next year? Since I am in the NYC area.
I've never been to a con and next year would be the best time for me to go to one since I'll be 16. Sadly one of my parents would have to supervise me. ;____;

It will be sometime mid january. Its a nice decently sized college con. Pretty cheap too, 15 bucks for pre registered peeps. And if you come be sure to ask around for the vice chair :)
(I'll probably be dressed as Gendo again........)
