The resemblance to Eva-01 is pretty blatant, with the horn and the ornamented helmet and everything. Not hard to guess that the design concept was "a dark counterpoint to Eva-01".

Meh, Eva.06 stopping Eva-01 would be better than just lamely have her subdued off screen (that restraining system from the manga might come in handy),

The manga thing isn't plausible enough to merit inclusion. Or even consideration for inclusion. Seriously.

To be honest, the idea of a battle between 06 and berserk 01 isn't that appealing when I think about it a little harder. 01 would have to be subdued to let the story go on, and that just wouldn't be cool. I'd rather watch Yui finish having her jollies and voluntarily deactivate.

Then she can go berserk later and kick the crap out of her evil twin when the Evil Silver-Haired Bishounen With Mysterious Powers overwhelms poor little Shinji. I look forward to seeing Eva-06's innards strewn all over Central Dogma.

But it would be cool if Yui is beaten by dark Yui first, that would show how strong the new Eva is. Then the second time they fight, Yui would win and it would be epic. Although it would be a little cliché, maybe they could play the "Eye of the Tiger" between fights.

I think the red line in Eva.06's head is actually it's visor, not it's mouth. So this is more like a face shot then a jaw shot.

I wonder how indicative is this picture of what will Eva.06 look like in the final product. The basic outlines will probably be the same, but, for example, Eva-05's design was altered and expanded upon compared to what we could see in the teaser at the end of 1.0 (and 1.11 is just a remastering, so i doubt they had redrawn that particular shot).

But it would be cool if Yui is beaten by dark Yui first, that would show how strong the new Eva is.

IMHO, it would be better if there would be at least a little suspense about what Eva.06 is actually capable of before the possible Final Fight.

I want them to be built-in weapons. I have dozens of sketches of Unit 01 with shoulder-mounted miniguns almost like those, and toys like prog-bayonets that slide out of the arm-bracers, or 02 with a sword like Gundam Exia; because my mind chants: "Evas need built-in weapons" Because while AT Field haxmagic and berserker mode is nice and all... having additional tools at your disposal is always advantageous.

But you have got to remember that some things in this first preview have changed in the new trailers like 02 arms now being white instead of orange like the preview. 06 may not even look like that any more, even though I hope it does.
