Aw, too bad. I kind of wanted to be able to envision a new cast struggling with the script. I wonder who'll do Kaworu, though it doesn't matter. Subtitle Pawa! Akira Ishida: :nyao:

If anybody goes to that be sure to ask Funimation if they'll try to get the rights to Rebuild 1.11.

Anyway I'm guessing this means they will use most of the original dub cast then, seeing somebody other then Spencer as Shinji would have been nice.

Its probably just a matter of consistency, most companies will try to get as much of the original cast back as they can, and for every person that hated the original dub another person loved it. Anyway Matt Greenfield won't be touching this so that's good.

I think it depends on who runs the whole production of the dub, not necessarily the voice actors themselves...if its the guy who did the FMA dub I will be pleased, I don't know about the rest of you. ^_^

Yup, the same cringe worthy actors in Eva have done fantastic dub work in other shows thanks to far superior direction.

I couldn't agree more. Tristan MaCavery said that NGE's voice director Matt Greenfield, didn't even finish watching the show before he started having it dubbed.

I thought FMA's dub was excellent. It'd be awesome if they could get the same producer / voice director for Rebuild.

I'm at the con right now, and I have a DSi. I'll post what I can within minutes of the announcements.
And if no one asks during the panel, I'll do what I can to find out afterwards.

EDIT++
I also noticed there are at least 4 Eva panels this year...
"...I follow you both online and offline, and I am a 4-dimensional manifestation of absolute evil..." - Reichu-tachi
"In all cases, eventually it becomes necessary to decide to 'deliberately betray the fans.'" - Yoji Enokido
I believe in the director of Eva 1.11.

1.11 info as well as possible darkness issues with the original.

I won't get unduly excited about this as I'm not a dub watcher (I have this feeling we'll be seeing a lot of the Gurren Lagann dub cast in the film) the most exciting thing they could do there is announce the release date of the film.

I mean is it still supposed to be November 9th or 10th?

The members of the original cast that I hope are somehow attached to this (though it is highly doubtful) would be Allison Keith and Tristan MacAvery. I wouldn't mind is Amanda got on board either, but keep her away from directing.

Don't really see this happening, but you never know.

Didn't mind Grant's interpretation of Asuka for the most part, but at times her voice was just a bit too grating (but then again, it is Asuka). I did enjoy how she brought in some German phrases and was able to say them correctly. In fact, some of her later work that I've seen hasn't been bad at all. Hell, I think if she maybe toned it down a little, she could do a pretty good job.

Spike seemed alright too, but good Christ, whenever Shinji screams, the best ones came from Megumi. Her scream at the end of Air...chilling.

Well, I suppose we'll know who is who in good time. Funimation has put out some good dubs (from what I've seen on [as]), so I think the chances are that this one will be decent.

Personally I think that could be said for almost the entire cast of the Eva dub. I mean the english voices fit the characters fine, its just how they used their voices is an entirely different subject.

...new voice director...that's all I ask...

For me, Spike's voice will always be a part of Shinji that I cannot shake, so I personally hope that they get him back. His voice sounds absolutely nothing like Megumi's, but in my head, he still sounds the way I expect Shinji to sound. I say, try and get most of the original American cast back, but use a better director.
