I just checked the full press release and it's "just" a stage greeting event which is usual for anime films, however this is the first of a such event for Rebuild after a staggering 14 years so it's kind of a big, big deal. No indication that they'll announce anything especially concerning an international release as the event is aimed for Japanese fans.

Hell, I'd take that any day of the week over 5 months.

Well, it's Monday March 22nd in Japan and no news of an Amazon Prime release, so I guess that this speculation from that Italian site was wrong.

Nothing is right or wrong until we get some news.

I'm gonna bet my Asuka avatar on it being released before Easter.

This is a bet based on absolutely nothing and I actually wanted to change my avatar anyway, I win either way

I presume she is Asuka, I'm quite sure she is her, but I am not 100% sure not having seen the movie :freud:

We still need to see if they announce anything during the interview with Anno that is scheduled for today and if we got nothing we will still see if they announce anything on the 28th. Even if the event is just for Japanese fans, if we got a digital release we win.

I doubt they would announce anything regarding digital release on an event that takes place and focuses in a theater

I agree, international streaming release isn't the kind of thing announced during an interview with the director or an event with the Japanese VAs.

I can do 2 months, though I’m probably just gonna log off this forum and forget about Eva for a while to make it go by faster. The hard release date was the last thing about this movie that still needed confirmation. Would’ve been amazing if it were April, but a (presumably) international streaming release barely 3 months from the theatrical run is still insanely good.
