Does the Region Coding differ on the Blu-ray or DVD?

Specifically, for this product (Eva3.33), the BD is region-free, so should play anywhere, whereas the DVD is region2 (Japan and Europe).

If you have the means and space to download UTW's subbed BD rip, I would say no. It's a moot point for me since I'm not planning on buying any of the individual releases.

Not foolish at all! These are things you kinda just pick up once you spend enough time sailing the high seas in search of anime.

Unlimited Translation Works, commonly referred to as UTW, is a group which releases high quality fansubs of anime. They allied with the group THORA to produce exceptional fansubs of the last two Rebuilds, so they're the group that I'm looking to for 3.33.

Some other fansubbing groups you may see mentioned include CoalGirls, HorribleSubs, Commie, and gg.

According to forum rules I'm not allowed to link to UTW's page, but it's pretty easy to find.

UTW-THORA has released 720p and 1080p versions of both 1.11 and 2.22, so that shouldn't be a problem. I expect to see 3.33 pop up by the end of April.

Considering that UTW managed to release a 720p sub of the 7-minute preview less than a day after it aired with no previous knowledge of the script, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them release 3.33 just as quickly, assuming they've got their own script touched up to their liking and ready to sync.

Nevertheless, didn't think that 3.33 would see a release so early, that's pretty unusual for Japanese standards, especially if you consider the 11 month wait for 2.22... I conclude that it has to do with the release of 4.0.
