Well now we know Mari's shooting that pistol at Unit (edit: 00, and yeah, it's not actually either one) as it flies past with it's rocket booster. One would assume that not long after, it's coming through that wall between Shinji and Misato.

Good to see some cool camera angles with the action scenes this time round!!
Especially the part where 08 fires at Mark 9.

Eh? If you're talking about the Earth being split into a red grid, I'd guess that's from the 4th Impact sequence, and Shinji would only be able to see it if he tapped into a satellite or something...

It seems to have a smear of blood on it... seems like an angel to me (with the refraction on the surface, the background, smoke and all).

I think it's the moon. The clouds moving away could mean its from the scene where Kaworu shows Shinji post Impact Tokyo 3. Notice the scene directly after that is Shinji in his hazmat suit.

Yeah....probably the moon. Honestly I thought it was the Earth at first but then again it couldnt since it has too much blue and too little red oceans....

I think that is from the scene in which Kaworu shows to Shinji what has become of Tokyo-3 after Near 3I. They had to wait for the fog to clear before this view appeared before them.
