Although I must admit, I love Unit-8 in a dress, as it's the most feminine Eva of all the units and Mari is probably the most feminine pilot without actually being that feminine.

I sketched this up the other day just using pen - I'm a little disappoint how the shading on his neck/collar turned out (because I accidentally got heavy-handed). Also, have a sketch of a demon flower wielding a sword courtesy of my friend.

That's beautiful, and sweet, and beautiful.
Especially the part where she calls him Shinji, not baka Shinji, not gaki Shinji, but only Shinji. That's very powerful, because coupled with her "welcome home" comment, meaning that she accepts him as a part of her world, she's basically telling him that she forgives him for what he did at the end of 2.0 and in 3.0, something that Shinji desperately craved for, judging by his reaction.
Now I really want a scene like that to happens in FINAL : a scene where someone from his past(Asuka or Misato) says to Shinji "I forgive you", in a form or in another, of course Shinji will have to earn it, but something like that could be the emotional climax of the movie, and maybe the whole Rebuild franchise!

As for the rest of the comic, my two cents of what's happening is that Mari and Asuka are discussing(or rather Mari is teasing Asuka) about what the latter could offer Shinji for his birthday. And that seems to be bringing him on a outside deck of the Wunder(it looks like the big heliport where EVA-02 and Eva-08 were put at the end of 3.0) by night so he could look at the stars, which, as 3.0 taught us, is one of his favourite activities.
Why something that simple? Well, when they arrive, Asuka seems to warn Shinji of something at the exact moment he trips to the ground. Judging by Asuka's hair flying, it seems that she was warning him against the strong winds on the deck. The fact that she needs to warn him implies that he's not used to be on the outside areas : after all he's still under WILLE's custody, so it's very probable that he's restricted to very limited areas of the ship, and the areas on the open are off limits.
Asuka is probably smuggling him out for his gift and thus risks an heavy reprimand from Misato if they are caught, which only adds to the kindness of her act.

Actually right in the glasses.

The artist has a history of doing MariAsu love+comic violence, with konemegane often getting punched right in the megane.
