Couple of things from being able to take a closer look at the scans:

On the ending shot of the red wasteland, there is 3 tracks not 2.

There are 2 very close together, indeed overlapping (Asuka dragging Shinji behind her) and a third one further away (Rei)

Also, that freakin weird surgical operaiton shot, definately an Eva in the middle of that - most likely the reveal of 13 from wherever it was being stored/grown.

Didn't someone say when the second angel of the movie appears it's 4 pillars that come out of the water right after they pick up Shinji from space?

They're alive, they're together, and they're alone in what appears to be a pretty desolate environment. Hell, the entire 4.0 movie could just be them walking around destroyed Japan The Road style. Think of the character development. Think of the dialogue. Think of the possibilities (because the odds of us getting that are slim to none, but damn that'd be awesome.)

Aside from providing great potential for future character development and plot exposition, is there a reason why Asuka, Shinji and Rei are alone? I thought Misato and the others in their AAA Wunder Battleship would have picked them up or something? Or did they all die? huh?

Seems like Asuka/Shinji pairing is being favored by the producers. Misato is probably a general by now, and she looks rather badass as one. There are a lot of...crazy things going on that I have no soul to comment on. I like the idea of EVAs in space, but there are too many different robots now and that "Wunder" ship both looks retarded and has a retarded name. What I'd liked about Eva before was that while Evangelions themselves were far-fetched and fantasy/scifi-ey, the rest of the infrastructure and weapons stayed more or less believable, like the kind of thing you might see as the result of insane Cold War projects. Now things are looking even more TTGL or SoBW than before.


Also, I've been listening to the version of Ode to Joy as it appears in EoTV '24 for the whole 90 minutes I spent in ITT.
