Eva 3.0 (Q) Runtime is 106 Minutes (1 hour and 46 minutes): http://www.evageeks.org/2012/11/eva-3-0-runtime-106-minutes/

Sauce with that pasta: http://neweva.blog103.fc2.com/blog-entry-1896.html

Wonder how much longer the 3.33 DVD/BD version would be by comparison.

That's about as long as 2.0, I'm kinda disappointed, where's my 150 minutes epic Eva movie?

1 hour and 46 minutes? That's a sexy sounding runtime.

This entire time I was thinking that it would end up being 40 minutes long.

(Also, I know I haven't been on in a few days, but what's with the moustaches?)

I kind of suspected it would be full-length release since Q and Final are now separate movies. But I admit that also I felt some risk that they would be one movie, only released in two half-length pieces. So I guess it's good.

Well...this is disappointing. I wonder who's going to get shafted in the characterization department this time around?

That's pretty much the length i thought it would be (between 1hr 35 and 1hr 50 mins) hopefully they pack in as much action as possible ;)

Does this include the God Warrior short film?

I hoped that 3.0 could be around 120 minutes.....

There are only 3 Angels left to battle across two movies. And judging from all of the trailers and previews so far, it's hard to argue the appearance of more than one Angel in the movie. (Assuming Kaworu isn't defeated at the end of Q.)

But that actually sounds a bit perfect for the Eva movies. I'd love to see an Eva film where the entire film builds up to only one or two epic battles. It'd be a better balanced conglomeration of character development as well if the action arc was simple and to the point, rather than juggling five different Angels at once. (As much as I loved the whiplashed feeling of 2.22's action, I want this change of pace Q suggests so bad.)

Me too, however I must admit, a two hour animated film can be really draining.

Especially with Anno. Shiki-Jitsu was his only 2-hour movie, and it was a draining movie without having to be an animated film.

How long were the others, (initial & BD-Version), for a comparision?

2.0 was already thickly-packed, I remember constantly going "What, there's still so much of this left?" when I first watched it. So I'd trust Anno to use all 106 minutes to their fullest.

Sounds like a solid runtime to me. The movie has a lot of material to cover but 2.0 got through most of the necessary action.

1.0 was about 95 minutes theatrical & 2.0 was about 108.

I wasn't able to see 1.0 or 2.0 in theaters. Did 1.11, and 2.22 add additional scenes that prolonged the movie?

I didn't see Evangelion 2.0 either but it looks like the original runtime was 108 minutes while the home video 2.22 runtime is 112 minutes.
So let’s make a wish.

2.22 has a few short extra scenes (the subway station scene with Kaji, synchro test, etc) and 1.11 may have some too, but they didn't add a lot to the running time (I think).

Please feel free to correct me, though.

I disagree. Unless it's a boring film, I don't see how length in and of itself can be "draining". As long as the length is appropriate for the story, I really think you'd have to get significantly over four hours for me to feel a movie is "too long".

It's really all about preference. As much as LOTR being fantastic movies, 3 hours is still draining for a lot of people. Personally, 1 hour 40 mins for Evangelion Q feels right to me, just so long as:
1) The story is told in whole and the characters are giving enough screen time for them to serve their purpose.
2) New and interesting material is introduced. After all, Q out of all the films so far to me, is the big ice breaker to truly show us whether it was worth it to watch 2 full length movies over the course of 5 years and see if the story delivers something we haven't seen before. (I'm not expecting it to. But I won't doubt the movie will be good none the less.)
