God, i've listened to God's Gift like 6 times, that track is probably my favorite. So freakin' good.

Hey, this may be a dumb question, but here goes anyways. I've vaguely listened to bits and pieces of the 3.0 OST (I don't want to ruin the first impression for myself), and I wasn't able to find the track from the 7-minute preview when the angel reveals itself (around 4:29). Is this song included on the OST, or will it be released on the Special Edition OST, with all of the other cues?

It's called "God's Message" budd, it should be on the track listing. Check again. ;)

You're looking for Disc 1, Track 1, Gods Message. A lot of the tracks that are used are full version only instead of movie edit.

Hah, thanks guys! I was just trying so hard not to listen to the whole track so I wouldn't spoil the fun for myself (I unfortunately did the same thing with FFXIII).

I've been wishing for this too. I have recently found that the Eminence Symphony Orchestra did an awesome orchestral rendition of Thanatos (including the ending part, which is beautiful). They have this performance as a DVD and a CD, so you should be able to find it.

Of course, sad little piano songs make thematic sense, but it feels sorta like a return to 1.0, that used lots of these little subdued piano songs, too.

It's stuck in my head in a way I don't really want it to, particularly the melancholy songs. There is a certain emotion attached to them that it's just impossible to get rid of. But that's a sign that the music is great, I can't wait to see the film. It just seems to go perfectly with Shinji and Kaworu's relationship.

Personally sounds kinda funny to me. Shinji thinks in Will Ferrels voice apparently.... But yea, its a very sad song otherwise.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

I think that I'm in love with Kindred Spirits, I even both like and understand the lyrics for a change. All the tracks from the 10th to the last one are actually very good, except for Gods Gift which is more in line with the grandiose/epic style of most earlier tracks, I don't dislike those other tracks but they feel a little "meh", at least without the visuals (the first two tracks work well as BGM of the first 6 minutes).
So let’s make a wish.

super dark feel to many of the songs. Just the wait now...

Post card could have been nicer :P, the ones which came with the vol 13 manga were far superior.

The box has a nice texture though...But otherwise, nothing particularly special about first press edition which is cool for just ownership value.

I just got the album this weekend and was completely blown away. The way the music matches the series is crazy. So far my Favs are Gods Gift, Gods message, The Ultimate Soilder, Serenity agaisnt the turmoil ( Awesome), tout est perplexe and about five more. I just love how it flows. This is going to be my month for Shiro. He just did another of my fav shows and did the same thing. He just knows how to match the emotion. :worship:

Two disks, 34 tracks.

Mine arrived yesterday, and I haven't listened yet...

[edit] Now I have, and it's made me even more impatient to see the film!

Yeah i'm impatient as well...I actually found the movie audio and listen to it with the transcript last night. My brain was screaming " I NEED A VISUAL DAMMIT". I got the Hikaru Utada single as well. Really beautiful song. Makes you want to cry. :boohoo:

I think the trumpet thingy and even parts of the melody (only a few) remind me of Shinji's theme from the classic series, the trumpety-parts in the middle of the song, just a lot slower.

Given the context it plays in, (and assuming it's not just me)
SPOILER: Show
, that's pretty... evil.
