Celebrity RIP Thread

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Willy Wonka is dead? Leo Bloom is dead?

This year has sucked. All the cool people are dying.

More cool people than you will ever know about died long before you existed, and countless more will come into being long after you shuffle off this mortal coil.

At this point, I'm entirely resigned to watching icons of my childhood drop off one after another. It's just an inevitability of life. I'm not going to pretend it's a personal tragedy because I don't actually know any of these people. With any luck, most of those whom I've admired from a distance will have lived long, full lives before they die, and had individuals close to them who will carry on the extra-celebrity parts of their memory.

RIP Mr. Wilder. You'll be putting a smile on my face for many years to come.

Not a RIP yet.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Rejoice, glory is ours. Our young men have not died in vain. Their graves need no flowers. The tapes have recorded their names.
I am all there is.
Negative! Primative! Limited! I let you live.
But I gave you life.
What else could you do?
To do what was right.
I'm perfect, are you?
