Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

So did mine now that you mention it. I'm not sure why that slipped my mind. :?

Latin and classical Greek was hell. There are so many grammar points that it makes you sleepy, but luckily, I survived.

Latin and classical Greek seems to have the habit of going to the back of your mind and 'hide' as such until it is stimulated. But I forgot the most anyway.

No idea if I already wrote in this, but oh well:

~Polish due to my family speaking it. (I can understand it but not speak it that well.)

~English since I was born in the States though my family's from Poland.

~I learned some Spanish in Middle School and High School though I forgot most of it by now.

~Some Japanese. I can write/understand Hiragana/Katakana and speak some basic Japanese, though Kanji makes me cry. (Being left-handed sucks in this case!)

Left-handed? That is a coincidence. I was forced to use my right hand so now I am ambidexturous.

Japanese needs right-hand. Yes, I do agree.
Why do they teach Spanish anyway? Because of the large Hispanic population?

Spanish is an important language mainly because its widely spoken, albeit I can't really say Spanish speaking nations wield much influence in today's political arena.

As a natural Spanish speaker I have to say what I dislike the most about the language is how long-winded the sentence structure is in comparison with say, English.

English and French, and even then my french sucks
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

in the United States what languages are taught varies from school system to school system, but over time less "useful" languages tend to get cut from the program; i.e. Latin, Greek, Italian, etc. used to be taught more but now are only taught in some districts.

German is taught a bit more, but still many do not teach it.

It's not just Spanish: more or less, most schools teach either Spanish or French and you get to choose which one you want to do. This isn't so much due to practical concerns about spanish speakers (for which many simply have no tolerance, but lets not get into that...) but simply the matter of that France and Spain spread around the world a lot and thus many more countries speak Spanish or French as opposed to German (i.e. French and English are the two official languages of the Olympics, etc.) again, it varies from school to school.

My dad's German, so I learned to speak it at a young age, and I spent time in Germany over the summer in 2007. I'm more than fluent enough to translate all of Asuka's German lines. I'm taking French in school, and I have had 3 years of it. I can speak Russian and Japanese somewhat, but it's not enough to be of much use.

English. I'm really bad with languages. Spanish was hell for me in high school, I had to go to summer school for it. I never wanted to learn it in the first place...

Native English, fairly good (if rusty) French, a smattering of Japanese, and a few phrases in: Russian, German, Spanish, Hindi, Ojibwe, Norwegian, and Hebrew.

In fact, I never realized how catchy English really was until I started taking German classes.

English is actually a pretty efficient language when it comes to getting the point across quickly.

I actually find it more comfortable to use than my own native language, spanish.
