Anyway, back on topic, long-necks! I think that Cera's father is actually quite a bit like Gendo. And they have both lost a wife. The only problem is that Little Foot is the Shinji character. Does that symbolize anything? Perhaps that Shinji's and Asuka's pasts are that much more intimately entangled?

Ok now that I got that out I think this needs some more fanwanking. PenPen is in fact both Little Foot and Cerah. After they triggered first impact and they lived alone on the earth the two ended up merging together because they weren't able to visualize themselves in their own minds properly. What resulted was a new type of dinosaur, this dinosaur PenPen has such a high IQ is because he/she has all the millenia of knowledge that little foot and Cerah have accumulated from living alone all these millions of years. Matt Greenfield may have been wrong about Misato Asuka and Rei merging but in the face of such overwhelming evidence we can't come to any other conclusion that Penpen is the result of the forbiddon union of Littlefoot and Cerah.

To Defectron: Quite interesting! I had forgotten that birds evolved from dinosaurs -- though they evolved from the therapods and ornithopods, while Little Foot and Cera were both sauropods. Still, I feel there's a connection there. Perhaps Pen Pen is a descendant of one of their other friends?
