How old are you? Where are you from? What gender are you?

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Sadly age is the key to learning a foreign language. The younger you are the easier it is. Sometimes I wish the education system would force foreign languages on us when we are young (And I am not talking about those gimpy little Spanish classes you take in elementary school where you sing Brother John in Spanish a couple times a week.) then maybe more people would be bilingual in this country. Sadly I am getting up to an age where it is becoming very difficult to pick up other languages as I am set in my ways. This is a big waste from me as I wasn’t bad at English skills either. Or at least that's what my 31 in that area of the ACT said. Makes me wonder how well I would of done on that section if I would have studied for it instead of just concentrating on the science and math portions.

That might be it. Oe-sensei has taught us how to say "I am also..." and the like, but not "me, too".

How does the first one go?

私も同じです is basically "same with me", "you and me both", etc. But apparently you can just say 私も if all you want to convey is "Me, too" (or "Me, neither", depending on the context).

Well for example, one of us says "watashi wa Mount Allison daigaku no gakusei desu." Another can then say "watashi mo gakusei desu." Things like that.

Could you repeat that in all hiragana chars? It's the only character set we've learned at this point.

Oh, right. I can't imagine any Japanese people actually repeating all of that in their response, though. >>D

lol n00b!! Well, step by step, I guess.

わたしもおなじです。

People complain about kanji, but, considering Japanese's policy of no spaces between words, kanji make things helluva easier to read, as long as you, like, know the kanji. (And there are so many homophones, in a lot of cases you NEED the kanji...) Watashi is probably one of the first kanji you'll learn; I picked up ona(ji)/dou just because it's used so much.

And it's quite hypocritical considering the source. Then again it was probably supposed to be.

And sort of on topic, What happens to most of the new people in this place? It seems a majority of them give intro posts and then disappear. Is the cabal of oddities here so stange that people run from us once they start to learn who we are?

Off Topic- Happy Halloween all.

I'm trying D:

I got rid of the DVD Player/Computer in my room, so I haven't watched Eva in several months.

Oh yeah, I also lost my job and have no source of income to buy new DVDs
